This film tells the story of a White House butler who served eight American presidents over three decades. The film traces the dramatic changes that swept American society during this time, from the civil rights movement to Vietnam and beyond, and how those changes affected this man's life and family.

What an amazing film! First off, the cast was stunning. The story was spectacular. The parts of history this movie covered were not only important, but ones that we should never forget.

It starts out as young Cecil Gains (Eugene Allen is his name in real life) is working along side his parents as a sharecropper in the 1920's south. And finishing 80 years later with Obama being elected. Imagine how much was seen by that man during all those years!

I was really impressed that they covered so many civil rights events during that time, from the Freedom Riders to the Woolworth's sit in. What brave men and woman those young people were.

Just an impressive, magnificent film and story. Bravo to all those that took part!!
