Exercise – yes – bike ride 30 minutes plus walking into town and back (40+ minutes)
Tracked – yes
Calories – yes with 200+ to spare. (I need that to make up for yesterday and to prepare for tomorrow)
Pass days 1/3
Yesterday I was with my DIL and tomorrow I will be with my daughter – she will have all four grandchildren with her and an extra adult will come in handy. My DIL really needs some time to herself so her two are having a sleepover with their cousins. We are all trying to support each other, some days are more difficult than others.

July 1 was a bust for me. I broke one of the cardinal rules and stopped tracking at some point. But today was much much better, my head is back in it.
I’m watching Tour de France as I’m reading and writing here. I record the stages but am several days behind so trying to get caught up.
I’m really committed to riding out these slumps, sticking with it, not giving up, and making progress no matter how slow. My personal mantra has been “slow and steady isn’t glamorous, but it is sustainable”.
Yes to all 3 today.

@lesdarts180 this post made me SMILE! That's what family should be about. Coming together to support each other during the tough times. I'm so glad that you and your daughter and DIL all have each other. That's very thoughtful of you and your daughter - but 4 would be a handful for most (including ME!)
Awesome job on 3 yesses for today too!!6 -

Three yes today.
Tomorrow may be a challenge eating dinner out with friends, but the restaurant is supposed to be emailing me their menu tomorrow as soon as they make it. I plan to plan ahead if I can.9 -
Today went really weird (details in spoiler)I fainted overnight after getting up and using the restroom. I came out unhurt but shaken by the experience. This morning's yoga seemed to go fine but when I went to run my heart rate monitor was reading all over the place for the first quarter mile. In the end that appears to have just been my HRM acting up (has been known to happen under certain conditions) but it did cause me enough concern to stop the run and start trying to figure out what might be wrong with me.
In the end while calling for some answers I was directed to the ER. My heart seems OK, labs looked good too (outside of elevated ketones explained by being in ketosis). The culprit seems to be a drop in blood pressure. I did bolt upright out of bed with a leg cramp when I got up, and historically my normal blood pressure is in the low range of normal (but has never been below 90\60). So looks like it was just something that can just happen under all those circumstances, and did.
So I did not get today's scheduled run in, which is OK. I'm just glad to be OK and know it was not something more severe.
I managed to hit all my other goals though, which was partly luck since we picked up some food from a restaurant on the way home. I got a seemingly sensible salmon chimichurri salad and luckily when plugging the components into MFP I was not over on anything and able to work my remaining macros in around it.

✅ - Exercise 20+ Minutes
✅ - Calories within budget
✅ - Tracked every detail I consumed
0 Pass Days Used
Personal Challenges Met: 1/2 days (2nd)
✅ - Net Carbs 30g or less (28g)
✅ - Protein 180g or more (201g)
❎ - All Scheduled Workouts Completed (2)- Isometrics - 25 mins
- SKIPPED - Run (not a negative)
After getting home and eating lunch I went out for an 80 minute hilly walk just to see how I felt. I felt great and my HR data from my watch looks as expected. That was both to make me feel more comfortable about everything, and also to make up for the missed run.12 -
@WhatMeRunning Thanks for going to the ER! Too many people try to ignore or deny heart irregularities.
Get well really soon. I hope you find a simple solution.

Today is not a normal day for me and the next few days will not be normal either.
Today started with contractors arriving at 7 a.m and working through mid-day.
This afternoon, I drove to 2 hours to pick up our grandson from summer camp.
The coolest thing about today was that on the way home, I asked my 13 year old grandson what type of music he wanted to listen to. He quickly and surprisingly responded, "The Rolling Stones!".
I told him that I have been enjoying the Rolling Stones since I was a teenager. I never imagined that at 71, I would be still listening to the Rolling Stones at the request of a grandson.
This was a Pass Day. It was one of the rare days in which I did not get any time to exercise.
The next few days will be several days of family time and fiesta.
I will do my best to track my intake, but my focus will be outward focused on this last gathering of our 4 adult children at our home.

Calories: under
Exercise: Yes, playing chase and soccer8 -
Date: 2 July 2021
Exercised?: Yes. 71 minutes Cubii
Calories?: Yes

Evidence again of how much this challenge is helping me in giving me that extra push to resist the snacking temptation. Even going out to dinner with my aunt and cousin from out of town, I was able to stay under calories, including tracking (by best estimation) the leftover bit's of my son's dinner.9 -

Personal Monthly Goals for UAC
Personal goals for July 2021:
1. Plan to be in winners circle (track everything as expected in this UAC)
2. Not more than 3 pass days
3. Stay honest (even if it puts me out of the circle for the month)
4. Maintain the habits of "kitchen close"
5. Create a habit of not eating more than 1 serving of nuts. "Don't go nuts"
5. Forgive my mistakes (forgive myself) and don't leave the UAC for this month even if I failed
6. Encourage others where possible.
10 -
Thanks for the encouragement @MadisonMolly2017
Yes x 3, but I'm pushing a little too closely to the calorie budget yesterday and today. Will need to plan my food a bit better, perhaps I'll log ahead for the next couple of days so I have a clear plan in mind.11 -
Welcome new and old members.
The UAC challenge has only 3 rules.- Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes?
- Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day?
- Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank?
At first glance, they look very simple. From my experience these rules are applicable to anyone at any stage of this health journey. Whether you are just beginning, advanced or maintaining. (BTW, I've being in maintenance for the past few years).
I have come to realized that these are the only things that nobody in this life will do for me. Nobody cannot eat for you, exercise for you or track what you eat, lick or bite in this world. This is all about me, my health, and my usefulness to those around me! If I don't take care of my health then I cannot take care of anybody.
Does it mean that I will not fail? No, it is not about being perfect! But it about forming a habit. A habit that will bless me and move me forward in life, it will also bless those around me.
Therefore, as you join us in this month's UAC, you do not have to be perfect. We are not This is a very supportive group. We will support you as you learn these habits. Come by everyday, read encouraging/funny/realistic posts, and post something.
If you have at most 3 pass days (pass day is a day where you could not say "Yes" to all 3 rules). Then you are in Winner's circle. If you have more than 3 pass day but you were here everyday, you are in the Champion's circle.7 -

Did I exercise 20 minutes or more? Yep, a little over the 20.
Did I track everything? Yes, yes I did.
Did I stay within calories? Well, I did until I was looking at my diary, trying to figure out why it looked like something was missing. That's because it was. My lunch was missing. Well, that explains why I was so far under my goal. Hahahaha! When I added it (best guess from the database), I went over. So....
Pass Days: 2/3 (that doesn't bode well for the rest of the month, does it? But I'm going to keep on keeping on.)
Looking forward to the three-day weekend. Plan to ride all three mornings. Tomorrow with my daughter and sister. Sunday by myself. Monday? Could be solo, could be with my daughter. But, unless the promised rain shows up on my side of town, in amount to actually mean something, it will happen.11
