Hi and thanks for having this group around.

I'm Christina, 36. I was diagnosed with stage 3 triple negative breast cancer on April 15th of this year. And it's been a whirlwind ever since. They found masses in multiple spots in my right breast and under my right armpit. The doctors are saying it's an inflammatory type and started me on chemo by the end of April.

I've had four rounds of AC and will have my second, dose dense, of Taxol this Friday. I've been lucky to have had minimal side effects but the mental impact has been tough. My sister-in-law's family runs a cold capping business and gifted me that treatment. I've managed to keep most of my hair which has made it easier to look that much less sick. Not sure if that's been best for me or my family but I'm not going to complain. The fatigue and, now, joint pain have been the worst of everything.

I've elected to do a DMX and will probably be scheduling that for sometime in Sept/Oct once chemo is done and I've had time to recover. From there it will be onto radiation. Then reconstruction. It's going to be a long road but I've been trying to just take it a day at a time.

Today, I decided to start focusing on my eating habits again. This entire process has left me feeling like I have no control over my body anymore and that it's not my own. I'm hoping that this focus on better eating again will help me gain just a little bit of control back.

Any advice and encouragement is always welcome.

Thanks!

Hi there. Late reply but I am just getting into Fitbit. I was lucky to find my cancer very early and it is very hormone positive so I am on Tamoxifen and dealing with surgical onset of menopause at 46 and weight gain from T and menopause and eating my feelings. I am happy to see this group here and look forward to poking around. I have been just shocked to see so many women younger than me (like you) with breast cancer and pleased to see that the survival odds are very good.
