Good morning gentlemen.
Day 1 of the garage sale went fine. Lots of fun talking to all the people, and I sold a lot of small turnings - made $250. Lots of comments about how nice the larger pieces were, but few takers. After examining the bowls, listed from $35 to $100, and admiring them, one group of women walked away and I heard one say, "They were beautiful, but he wants too much. I'd only pay 50 cents to a dollar at a garage sale." Not from me, lady.
DS and family came over to celebrate Rita's birthday, last night, and delivered their cat to us. We are watching him while the family is on a week-long road trip down the coast. The cat is lovable, but decided 4:15 was time for me to get up, this morning. Hard to sleep with a cat nudging your head and purring.0 -

Dave, don't settle on a price that you are not happy with. When you are ready to sell, you will find the right market, and the right people will appreciate your work. Your work is beautiful, and worth top dollar. Happy birthday to Rita! Our dog won't let our cat anywhere near our bedroom.
Still praying for Heather and rapid, complete recovery.
Collin is still liking his new job very much after four days. He gets the weekend off, and then gets on it again Monday. He is at one of the busier stores in the O'Reilly's chain. I am surprised, but he likes the people interaction.
We are in the midst of an excessive heat warning, so I don't know how much outside time that we'll have this weekend. I don't know what is on tap, either. Perhaps just a slower weekend?
I watched the opening of the olympics last night. I struggle with some of the interpretive art/performance. I guess I'm an old fuddy duddy. And this is coming from someone who was business manager for the performing arts at KU for three years (40 years ago.)
It is sad. I was set to do a DUI checklane with the city of Shawnee, Kansas on August 20. They could not get enough officers to sign up. It has been cancelled. I am still set to do a ride-along with the Kansas Highway Patrol on August 28, and then a DUI checklane with the Johnson County, Kansas Sheriff on September 10.

Maybe your wood creations should be displayed aside from the other items with a sign like Artisan Woodworking to set some expectations.
Another day relaxing and healing at home. I have alot of picking up etc to do. My back has calmed down so I am running out of excuses. There will be several short walks before it heats up.0 -
