Hello!!! My goal for this month is very simple - going back to square one and starting from scratch - and sticking with the plan!!! I am doing a C25K. I am accustomed to much higher mileage. So I don't have a mileage goal for this month and I have actually (for the first time in many many years) walked more than I have run. And it is good. I am building my strength and endurance back up. My goal race is Saturday, August 21st. I've been thinking about a goal time - should I have one or not. I declared myself a NEW runner when I did this, as if I hadn't been running marathons, half marathons and Ragnars for years. I needed to step back, so my goal should be to finish. I am still about three to four minutes slower per mile than I used to be - so I have no lofty goals for pace - but it would be nice to finish in under 40 minutes. So much will depend on how hot it is, how humid it is, and how crowded the course is.1

Okay, set up my new goal - half marathon training. I will not be setting up distance goals or pace goals yet.1

My new goal is my half marathon training plan. I will do some of my long runs with the Fleet Feet training group, but I have my own plan. It is on my Garmin and each week it updates and tells me the time or distance for my runs. It tells me I can run as needed, but the goal is to get to a point where it is mostly running. I believe there will be some speedwork included and possible some tempo runs. Right now the runs consist of shorter times, with a five minute walking warmup and a five minute walking cooldown with each. It gives me a pace, and the pace is super slow - it's actually hard for me to run that slow, but I am trying to be diligent and stick with the plan!!!0
