I thought for sure I'd take a pass day today because I was having some pain in my left leg at the joint and skipped the treadmill this morning. As it turned out we went out for happy hour and when we got home we took a long walk (at a rather slow pace) which gave me my 35+ mins on the Apple Watch.5 -

Exercise? Not unless it counts that my brain was probably going a gazillion miles an hour. It's been a *kitten* week.
Tracking? Yes.
Calories? No.
Kvetching ahead, just to get it out of my system. When I walked out of the bathroom late Sunday night, I stepped in a wet spot and, well, I thought one of the animals had an accident and my daughter had cleaned it up. Monday morning, just after I got to work, my daughter called and told me I needed to call the office because we had a bubble in the ceiling that was leaking. Where I'd felt the wet spot. Didn't occur to me then to look up. Due to her appointments this week, we made arrangements for maintenance to come on Thursday. Monday night we were at the ER, Tuesday she had her regular Wednesday counseling, an appointment with the Employment/SS expert, and a trip back to the ER for an ultrasound on her arm. Wednesday she had her endoscopy. Thursday, maintenance got here after lunch. A short time later, Ais called me in tears. Apparently the AC blower or something, which is located in the space above one of her closets, had blown hose/tube/whatever and has been leaking for quite awhile. That closet held her party dresses, some of her nicer but not blingy dresses, and her skating dresses from when she figure skated. There were boxes on the top shelf that had podium portraits and other photos from competitions. And there were VHS tapes of her programs. Just about everything was soaked through. Right now there are clothes hanging all over the apartment. And everything else is stacked around.
She is heart broken. Maintenance spent most of today here working on everything and will be back on Monday to patch the ceiling and walls. The carpet people are supposed to come next Thursday. Then, the icing on my cake... This morning, I clerked a short hearing at which the court reporter was a friend of mine. We stayed pretty far apart during the hearing (which was held telephonically) because that's how the room is set up. Afterwards, however, we left the courtroom and rode the elevator together. When I went back to court for the next hearing an hour or so later, there was a different court reporter there. Before she told me anything, the judge's assistant came out and informed me the first reporter had gotten a call from her doctor that she was positive for Covid. Le sigh. I went to talk to my boss and was told that because I am fully vaccinated and was masked the entire time I was with the court reporter, I don't have to quarantine, just watch for symptoms. The CDC recommends testing 3-5 days after exposure regardless of whether symptoms are present. So it looks like I'll be getting a covid test on Tuesday. I wouldn't mind a vacation right now. Since I'm broke, I guess I'll just go to bed and hope I go somewhere nice in my dreams. Hope y'all have a great weekend.
@biketheworld - congrats on your half marathon! That's fabulous.
@RangerRickL - the horses are gorgeous.

Exercise - 15 minute MommaStrong and 30 minute walk
Tracking - yes, planned and made some adjustments but tracked them
Calories - under, yes under my new provisional 1200 calorie a day goal (plus my ~130 exercise calories)
All the stuff I read above is so inspiring for doing some real exercise.
I have never been a real exerciser - running or anything like that.
My motivation for success is just feeling more like myself. I had a very rough pregnancy and gained 50% of my body weight with my first pregnancy 10 years ago and lost a lot of functional strength. And then, you know, I had a baby. The last few years, with now a 5 year old and a 9 year old, time has begun to open up so I can take basic care of myself. COVID school shut downs certainly threw a wrench in that for a while, but that seems to have stabilized with a new work from home life for me. I'm not in a stage of hoping for any transcendental out on the trail moments. But having less pain from daily activities like getting on and and off the floor, climbing stairs confidently, etc is great. My brain never quite got used to the space my body took up at its highest weight and as I get closer to my old weight I am doing less getting stuck in corners and bumping into things. Which makes me feel more like my body is MY body and not some stranger's body I am stuck in. And my little bit of daily exercise and fresh air helps me feel better emotionally on a daily basis. When I miss it I feel immediately worse. So that's my motivation.
I guess also no non-celebration days I also think to myself that I have to make myself food either way, I might as well plan out meals that are delicious and healthy because it's really just as much work to make meals that aren't that. That motivation doesn't work for "celebration" days though!3 -
I am still learning on this journey. Last night proves that. I have to run to my infusion so will read all the posts later.

Tracking: No
Calories: No idea - we went to an outdoor dance with hors d’oeuvre - AND they had a pretzel station AND a candy station (I know I’m like 5 years old). Way too much alcohol and too many carbs. Feeling it this morning. But it was so much fun. It has been so long …. I will have to work on having fun without feeling this way the next day. I am up 3 1/2 pounds this morning. It will go away fast but my body is definitely telling me something. If only I would listen.
Exercise: Yes, walk and dance

Hiking as we did today
800’ elevation
12k steps in the Big Sur mountains on the CA coast
A tough hike - washed out boys & slippery surface with steep
Hillside) but I navigated it easily
Not sore at all the next day
We LOVE that I can now do this WITH my husband❣️❣️❣️
Took our own food like last time, changing habit of a lifetime of eating our while vacationing
Great post @SummerSkier
The one thing I do every day to enable me to do the above is walk 10k steps - fast slow hilly flat. Doesn’t matter. Every day 10K❣️5 -

Took an easy day as I got the shingles vaccine. My husband had a poor reaction so I was not sure what to expect. For me, all day headache eventually followed by fever and chills. They gave me a flu shot at the same time and in retrospect, I am not sure this was the best thing for my body. However I have been told this is much preferred to getting the actual shingles so I am good with it.4 -
