Good morning BBB crew.
I'm driving DS, DDIL and a friend to a trailhead for the start of their 5-day backpacking trip in the Olympic Mountains. Might hike with them for a while, while I'm up their. We have the two grandkids at our house.
As ready as we can be for bringing Sassy home. Looking forward to getting to know her, and vice versa.0 -
Mornin' BBB.
Oy, Kelly. So sorry you need to seek further medical attention for your back. Yikes. Prayers that just rest and medication will bring you to a speedy and full recovery.
Still very humid here.
I totally saw the head of a hippo. When does Cecelia come home?
T-2 and its Sassy time. Lucy is really making me laugh with her antics this morning while I do barn chores.
Lisa and Mary have wedding this weekend, no?
This is a cute hypoallergenic dawgy, no?

Good morning BBB
16 days to ds2s wedding, Sept 10th is the day and is fast approaching. Got my trial hairdo done yesterday. Wrote my speech. Have some stuff to do at his place today for them, then back to work tomorrow. I Have the wedding week off. I'm doing their flowers so pretty busy the couple days before.
Kelly sure hope your getting better everyday!
I've been selected to be evaluated for a clinical trial, phase 2, for my Graves eye disease. A medicine infusion, by IV, that may reduce the swelling, eye budging & reduce the chronic dry eyes... I will look into it further after the wedding.
Get it "look into it" ha
Whats with the BBB gtg being switched up? Whos all going? How fun!!!

Board of Equalization is for when counties value property and property owners disagree with value because it affects yearly property tax bill. I've been appointed to the board for three years; this year I believe there are currently 14 appeals remaining; but next year county will go through a mass appraisal and expecting many appeals. Plus property values based upon market has jumped over 30% this year. County will more than likely have a millage rollback but nothing is guaranteed. Problem is some limited income folks could be forced to sale their homes. I went for it because of the way we were treated about 13 years ago and members on Board had no clue as to real estate value or how it is calculated. One should not have to have an attorney to show property value when a gung-ho appraiser is promising the county great wonders. That appraiser is now gone but board took everything he said as gospel, and had no idea as to what flood plains, train noise, paved vs unpaved roads utility availability had on property values.
NO rabbit or hippo, how about puffs of cotton
Kelly, have you been able to get an appointment? hope you are feeling better
Would love to have more join us, if needed could possibly find another home close by; wouldn't it be great if all of us could get together?
"This is a cute hypoallergenic dawgy, no?" super cute0 -
Sassy Getting very excited for the pictures and tales or “tails of sassy!” Have you got a hashtag for her yet? Raine has #lifewithlarry
I FINALLY saw a commercial on TV about Graves’ disease Mary. I watch very little TV but it was interesting bringing info to people who haven’t s clue. So, did you like your hairdo?
It’s so damn hot here and going to be hotter tomorrow. I don’t know how it could be. Not in the pool right now either. Girls nights here. I’m relaxing beforehand
So, update on back. I can’t believe this. I called. They called back. I have an appointment TOMORROW at 1:30 and I got X-rays today. I have the results on a cd. I’m seeing Dr Boody. Ha. Kelly Moody is seeing Dr Barrett Boody. Hilarious. Anyway. My bruise on my *kitten* and up my rear is still black and yellow and the chiropractor was doing me more harm than good IMO. Yesterday, he once again, sat a vibrating machine on my lower back/bruise. I nearly jumped off the table and told him once again that I had a deep bruise there and that it hurt like hell. I almost cried. Gee whiz. My hips and back are killing me. Work doesn’t bother it one bit but sitting does hurt and so does lying down. I’ll live but I definitely will appreciate MUCH prayer.
I think this is the longest post I’ve ever made.
Cheers 🍻0 -
Oh sam.
We get that property tax assessment once a year. I wanted to challenge it one year then dh brought it to my attention that if you do that the assessor will come into the home and see the updates then we’d be really screwed. I am appalled at the fact that it costs us $390 a month to live here for taxes and HO insurance0 -
Had no idea, Sam! We just got an escrow increase - property values up significantly. Ugh. If it were up to me - we'd be gone already. NC here we come.
Yikes! Good luck w/ appt tomorrow. Back pain is the worst!0 -
I live in the county east of Sam. Our property was re-appraised this year up ~25%. Fortunately our homestead exemption freezes our taxes.0

Long ago, when we lived in Lawrence Township, outside Indianapolis, they didn't appraise residential property at all. The value, for tax purposes, was whatever the home sold for the last time. The great thing about that - actually, two things - was that there was no guess work; a house was worth what someone would pay for it. Also, nobody could be forced out of their longtime home because values rose so far they could no longer afford the taxes. Of course, that was more than 30 years ago. They probably pay a bunch of guys to go calculate their opinion of what everyone's home is worth.0

Something like that may be more doable unless we're into the Covid 21 cycle.0
