Description
A cold spell is in the forecast for most of B.C.
Arctic air will invade B.C. beginning overnight Friday, with a major shift in temperature from our mild January.
Temperatures will be 5 to 10 degrees below normal over the South Coast
Gusty winds will accompany the arrival of the cold air, and the wind chill will make it feel even colder.
A few days of outflow winds is expected through coastal valleys of the North and Central Coast beginning Saturday morning.
Outflow winds will spread to the Sea to Sky and Fraser Valley Saturday night.
Temperatures are expected to gradually rise late next week, in early February. However, there remains significant uncertainty on the timing of a return to seasonal temperatures.0 -

The artic temperatures are supposed to hit Denver on Monday. The high is supposed to be -5F. I'm not sure what our temperatures will be in Grand Junction. Prayers for the Canadian area for low temps now as well as the thunderstorms predicted in Australia.

Last night we had snow sprinkled with rain. And today, no more snowfall, amazing what a day brings. Temps are -1 degree Or less than 30 degrees F which is still chilly 🥶 Our skies our clear for now, forecast says rain showers later today!

Judith, our heat wave lasted for days. Humidity was often in the 90s this past week, making the temperature feel much hotter. It didn't seem to cool down at night and it was hard to breathe. Sadly, people still left children and pets in cars and some died... It's feeling soupy here today even though the temps are lower.
The sun is very strong here. My cousin from Oregon once came to visit and did not believe me about the strength of the sun, and sunbaked in the extreme heat. I sheltered in the shade and tried to call her in. She wouldn't listen. She was burnt so badly...1 -
Sorry to hear about your cousin, and so sorry the heat is so intense.please stay safe and try and fine a place where it’s cooler, do you have extra fans, maybe some cool cloths placed around your neck but thinking more back of neck and please stay well hydrated. Hope the temps continue to come down. It grieves my heart hearing about infants and pets left in overheated cars dying! 😢

I am sorry to distress you, Judith. We're alright in the air conditioning and would never leave a child or pet in a hot car. Our car has air conditioning too and we do carry cold water with us everywhere. The temperature is much better the last couple of days but our humidity has shot up, so it still feels like dragon's breath outside.1 -
Susan - that is quite a word picture - dragon's breath weather. With us being in a higher altitude the sun brings quick harm from sunburns during the summer. We do have to tell visitors to be aware of this even when it seems to be shady skin can burn quickly.
