Exercise – yes
Tracked – yes
Calories – yes
I have had a painful knee for a couple of days which is making it difficult to do some of the cardio I usually do, but I had two bike rides today, got wet in the morning so cut it short then went out again in the afternoon. I haven’t managed my 12,000 steps today or yesterday but still kept going.
I’m out tomorrow – going to the theatre which will also involve lunch and dinner out.
That will probably be a pass day.
I’m not sure about claiming to be a Winner, I think my estimating was off when I was on holiday, I probably ought to backtrack and admit a couple of additional pass days (that glass of wine, the cheesecake, the choc chip cookie …….)

Yes x 3 today. Yesterday and today have been days where I've felt hungry all day. But I've been exercising my willpower and managing to stay under (barely). I've eaten my exercise calories both days, but under is still under!
I've used 3 pass days to date but I am determined to be the Winner's Circle this month.6 -

Wow O. Congratulations!
It is encouraging and motivational to know that our hard work pay off!2 -
Yes x 3.
Even made my new macros. Still reeling over my fat levels. My daughter looked at me and said your numbers were better when you were bigger and eating what you wanted. Just sayin'... That's my little ray of sunshine. Being dairy free and gluten free I have learned how to make delicious things but my go to for milk is full fat coconut milk. You know in the can. Coconut is in just about everything I eat in some form. Even though it doesn't have cholesterol it does have saturated fats. I was afraid when my coach pressed me to a keto styled diet my cholesterol would go thru the roof. All of my fats except triglicerides are high. My ratios of the bad and good are normal. I am still trying to fathom the 100 point jump when I am 30# lighter than I was in 2020. Maybe I need the higher intensity work out than what I have been doing. Or at least more of a balance between cardio and strength. Can you tell I suffer from perfectionism when it comes to myself. Also one of my triggers to eat off the rails but I have been holding it together.
@snowshoe072 I am glad someone is getting good news from their doctors! I mean this in the most sincerest way. Great job!6 -
@tahm42, sorry for asking what is really a keto diet?
Is Keto not fat?
I am trying to read about it...1 -

@tahm42 I hope you find something that helps. I certainly understand struggling to get cholesterol under control.
I can't explain how mine ever became under control other than doing everything in my power to get my total health in line the way my doctor had always told me. I don't know if that helps. In my case I was told 15 years ago to try a low carb diet like Atkins to lose a lot of weight easily and quickly and to take medications (statins). I scoffed at that, how could eating all those fatty meats that Atkins people raved they got to eat, and ingesting chemicals with side effects help? That was counterintuitive. All the internet ninjas preached how bad statins were, so why do two undesirable things? I went the opposite way of my doctor, choosing to eliminate all cholesterol from my diet and get only healthy, natural fats from whole raw vegetable, fruit, nut and seed sources. Not only did that not correct my cholesterol (helped a little, but nowhere near enough) but I started to develop type 2 diabetes, probably due to the high levels of carbs I had in the particular diet as I was doing it (lots of fruits particularly in smoothies). When my doctor suggested low carb again in 2014 to lose weight, get blood sugars in line in addition to medications (new meds for blood sugars, I was taking statins already) I decided I had nothing to lose by listening to him this time. It changed my life for the better as I lost a lot of weight, felt better, exercised and started running. Within a year my cholesterol numbers were quite good. Even when I gave up on health I was still eating low carb. Apparently even with that lapse plus getting back into the groove worked since I'm at my best numbers since this all began 15 years ago.
Praying for you as you find your way. Not everyone is the same so not sure if I'm helping, but there is all the help and advice I have on this topic, spare any details about any of that which I could expound upon if needed.3 -
Pass day for me as had some very good news yest that required copious amounts of Bailyes to celebrate. Ha ha. Enjoyed every second of it. This is either the 1st or second pass I honestly can't remember but I know I hvent went over 3 so will be sweet for winners circle. Xo4

@victorious55 Keto is a very low carb, high fat, high protein diet. Most people if they can tolerate the keto flu, I could not, lose a bunch of weight. Me I am on a low carb, high protein and the fats fell where they fell. My Trainer wanted my Macros at 25% carbs 30% protein and 45% fat some folks go as high as 75% fat. I can not in good conscious do that. Most days I ate 35% fat 35% protein and 30% carbs. I have lost but I had better blood work
numbers with 40% carbs, 30% protein and 30% fat. I am trying an even lower fat number of 25% to see if consistent eating at that level will bring my numbers down. That automatically puts oat meal back on my diet. One of the few whole grains I can have. It eliminates much of my coconut goodies. Moderation is key maybe I was enjoying it too much. Also cutting back on the amount of fatty proteins. Like today I ate chicken breast and my hubby and daughter ate chicken thighs. I will see if I can handle no added fats but I know me I will cut out my good fats too and that cant happen as I need them. Sorry this has become a book. I know I will figure this out also. I just need some time.4 -
Track: yes
Calories: yes
Exercise: yes- Full Body Warm Up: 5 min
- Day 38 EPIC I - killer upper body workout (+ cool down): 51 min
Passes used: 2/3 : (17oct) (21oct)
I completely enjoyed today's upper body workout. I'm still feeling it seven hours later. This week EPIC has kicked my *kitten*. I feel sore in various places but in a good way.
I'm reading about @tahm42 and @WhatMeRunning and their different results with interest. I take a lot of these numbers with a grain of salt. They are only a guideline. My partner and I eat the same foods 95% of the time and we both have thyroid issues yet our triglycerides are worlds apart. Mine is always around 75 while his are into the high 200s/low 300s. At the same time we both have choleserol levels that hover around 200-205. The thyroid can impact these numbers.
Some years ago a doctor put my partner on statins. When he switched to a new doctor he told him the statins would kill him and he shouldn't take them so he hasn't taken any since. Personally I'd never take them. For me making changes to diet and exercise are always the better choice.
