Lots going on in the group today. Really enjoy reading what everyone is up to and acknowledgement of challenges and how everyone is working to overcome them.
So so proud of you @Mrs_Hoffer - I don't have levels I'm monitoring per say but I do know when I go back to my doctor for my next physical he's going to be amazed! Looking forward to that.

I’ve been meaning to remind you that “You are so inspiring to me!”💯🎉❤️
Isn’t it amazing all the things we need to figure out (that don’t have to do with food) to maintain?
My key moment in ~ 2016 was when I realized, I ate when both when I was:
HAPPY (celebrations, work accomplishments, vacations) and SAD.
Both TOO BUSY and for RELAXATION
Both TIRED & energetic
You get the idea.
I had to find New Ways of dealing with those!

Pass Days Used: too many!
Maryann, I can't imagine what all you must be feeling. Losing 85% of your "why" - just like that - is huge, I certainly feel for you. ❤ I don't have any great words of wisdom, but I think that I would have to take some "me" time and see if I could come up with another "why". I think Maddie has some terrific suggestions.
Chris, things sound really stressful for you right now... I hope things in your world calm down soon! That much ongoing stress cannot possibly be good for you. 😥
<<hugs>> to both of you. ❤💙💜
I had my annual health assessment today for my health insurance. They didn't do them last year (because of covid) and in 2019 my cholesterol, triglycerides, and LDL were all at the highest they'd ever been. I'd never had a problem with sugar before, but in 2019 my fasting blood sugar was high as well. They even called me back in a week later for an A1C to check my sugar again, and told me that I was pre-diabetic! 😞
My numbers today were amazing! I've lost 50lbs, and everything was within the "normal" range. I agree with Maddie in that I don't ever want to "diet" again! I'm gonna move into more of a 'maintenance' mode now.... and see if I can learn how to KEEP the weight off! 😊
@Mrs_Hoffer
This. Is. My. Favorite. Post. Of the YEAR!!!
Congratulations on your commitment, persistence, and growth!!!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I have Complete Faith that you will effectively Design your unique method of Maintenance. Like dieting, there are several aspects to figuring it out!!
Maybe I’ll do some posts on this in November!
I am SO happy for you!!!

Wow @MadisonMolly2017 I know that was directed at @mshawski but there were tons of good nuggets in there for all of us! I know we've talked about our whys before in this challenge... you have clearly done the homework on yours!!
Thanks @ashleycarole86 !
The WHY is critical when life happens, habits slip, etc.
Our WHY is like a giant car lift that gets us back up on our feet again!
You inspire me!

snowshoe072 wrote: »Tracked logged a better food day today weather so bad our first nor’easter of the season raining and windy so no lunch time walk I think I saw snow flakes this morning when I took the dogs out.
So after work I went to Lowe’s for 2 new snow shovels and a couple of draftstoppers!
Did strength and flexibility work.
I wondered if you had a storm coming in @snowshoe072 Here, we blame the desire to buy and eat “storm chips” (or “storm crisps” for our UK members) on incoming weather systems. I kid you not — at times, the chip shelves are empty. Buying snow shovels and draftstoppers sounds like a more sensible choice. 😂😂🤣1 -
@WhatMeRunning - Chris, that kitten is just THE sweetest. 💛🐾🐾💛
@mshawski - my heart goes out to you. Your anger, sadness, and frustration are real and valid. I am sorry for this derailment from the path you were on and the sense of loss. 💙
@biketheworld - Yes, pretty much. The neutered boy is marking less already (though this change may not last). 😂😂🤣
@StayFITTer - Awesome first spoiler! And, such a great idea. I struggle with sleep - falling asleep, staying asleep, and going back to sleep. My husband is desperate to ban the iPhone from the bedroom. I use an alarm to tell me to shut it down prior to bedtime, butboftem just ignore it. 🥸 Perhaps I should try posting on MFP earlier and filing an update if it were needed. I know Chris does this sometimes @WhatMeRunning Good idea!2 -

Day 3 of my “Lower My LDL” Challenge!
💟💟💟
I am going back to my 2016-2017 eating patterns & tricks.
1. I’m measuring out 1/4 & 1/2 oz containers of my raw almonds & walnuts in the morning. Ie not eating from large container.
2. Logging all food prior to eating it.
3. Eating many more veg & wider variety of fruit. Racked up 7 servings today!
4. Sipping decaf tea throughout the day
5. Slashing my dark chocolate (replacing with veg/grapes)
Encouraged to get my cholesterol, which everyone is happy with, down to “perfect level.” Might as well. I needed a challenge!!5 -

@mshawski that sounds really hard. I definitely relate to the longing for a second child, and to have to grieve that and lose your motivation at the same time would be a real blow to weight loss. No advice, but lots of sympathy.
@Mrs_Hoffer , that is such fun confirmation to have such good results at a physical!
Today I am planning to have a day date with my wife and trying to be a bit indulgent with food while not making it all about food. Today's probably going to be my takeout day of the week, though.1 -
I worked an extra long day yesterday as we had an evening event. I came home and put in the post for the next day before heading to bed but have time to read through the posts this morning.
@mshawski Sending you a hug of comfort and strength.
@Mrs_Hoffer Congrats. That is great news!4 -
@Mrs_Hoffer so glad to hear your numbers are in great shape that makes all of the hard work more appreciated that we all do. My numbers should be back later this week hopefully they dropped or remained steady.
@WhatMeRunning back in the office it’s hard to re adjust where I work we are moving forward with a hybrid model a certain number of hours each week in office and rest at home I really like it. I find myself more productive at home but then again I don’t have a cute kitten to entertain me lol4 -

Random super fun "adding fuel to the fire" timing update: LOL. My BFF just had her daughter a week early, so now I get to so snuggle with a newborn having not yet compartmentalized all of my own nonsense. 😂😂😂😂 Oh, I'm gonna need a whole bakery on hand.9

@biketheworld – that made me laugh! Also thanks to @SummerSkier, so true in so many ways.
@Mrs_Hoffer – getting better thanks, and well done on your medical results!
@WhatMeRunning – vent whenever you like, it’s a safe space, nobody here knows you in real life. Oh and by the way, the kitten is adorable.

@mshawski – I’m not going to attempt any counselling – I don’t have any answers there (and Maddie has covered it very thoroughly). Sending you hugs.
But, we have had discussions around “motivation” before and I do believe that it’s a difficult concept. Believe in yourself: “you’re worth it” to quote the advert, and do what will make you happy in your skin. You know it makes sense to be healthy and fit whatever the future holds.

My post for Tuesday is going out late on Wednesday (I was tired last night)
Exercise – yes, bike ride 30 minutes and generally active.
Tracked – not really, lunch with family
Calories – probably not.
Pass day. My daughter, daughter-in-law and all four grandchildren came to lunch today (and my mum). It was lovely to see them but pretty chaotic! After they left, I didn’t have the energy to prepare a sensible evening meal. So tracking was not good (after I was in bed, I remembered a chocolate cookie that I had in the afternoon!). And, although I did get a short bike ride I did not reach my 12,000 step goal.

@Mrs_Hoffer @ashleycarole86 So nice of you both to think of me on my birthday. I spent the day with the movers and their van, then cleaning the mess, at both ends, from movers combined with the nor 'easter we had here. Today was bringing mom to dad (a one hour visit is 3 1/2 hours due to drives). Tomorrow is taking mom to a medical followup, as she no longer drives, and sister arrives from Seattle tomorrow evening. Trying to spot when and how I can get back to the UAC. Hope to be back soon.7
