Yes I tracked everything I ate and drank.
I went over my calories by 47!
It’s ok. Sticking with it
I guess I can’t count as exercise, but have been cleaning, moving stuff, and prepping for painting all day.
This is my first pass used
This sounds an awful lot like "exercise" to me! Especially if you did it "all day"!3 -

3 x Yes4 -
Yes x3 today and that is HUGE because we had our Thanksgiving dinner and this was originally meant to be a planned pass day. This means I might still be able to swing the Winner's Circle if I manage the rest of my month well. Did I eat all my exercise calories? Yep! Did I eat 1200 calories in 1 meal alone? Yep! Doesn't matter, I'm still following my rules5

✅ - Exercise 30 minute walk that I wouldn’t have done had it not been for the challenge!
✅ - Calories within budget, even with having dinner out and a beer!
✅ - Tracked everything

Regarding yesterdays nugget #4 ... I agree to a point. I think it's fine to have a goal weight in mind but also it's reasonable to evaluate during your journey. I have a weight in mind but I'm not sure if I'll actually ever get to it since I've been in a maint mode now for six plus months even though it wasn't planned. I think it will take me a lot of months of losing at about one pound per month to get there but also with doing EPIC I'm gaining some muscle which as we all know weighs more than fat so it may be I will find a little higher number to be acceptable. Ultimately I am going by my waist which still needs to be smaller to be healthy. Actual weight is secondary.
Today's nugget is a bit weird to me. I don't identify with this idea of fear. I want to be at a healthy weight and live a healthy lifestyle so I can have a better quality of life as I get older.3 -
Congratulations @bradcrew! Magnificent!1

I can not enjoy life if I am too wrapped up in the fear of losing it. Worrying has never been joyful. Not even once. Not even just a little bit.….
I have tried to seek out and embrace all of the new joys I find in my journey towards health. I try to find as many as possible and repeat them as often as possible.

That’ll preach. Thank you so much for being brave and for sharing. Found value and wisdom in what you had to say. Thanks for bringing your whole self to our comment section each time.4 -

First pass day of this Challenge. I feel pretty proud that I got to double digits before taking a pass day - doing way better than last month. But it was a full pass day - I have a friend visiting for the first time since COVID, and we got fancy takeout to celebrate and I enjoyed it thoroughly.
I think today's nugget is very interesting to reflect on. I think there's two parts to it:
1) Being motivated by fear. I definitely am - I have a chronic progressive autoimmune disease and doctors have told me that losing weight will make it less likely to impact my life severely. That's a big part of my motivation for weight loss. I try to flip it in my mind and think about it as "losing weight to be healthier" - the things I want, rather than what I don't want, but it's really the same thing. I think a bigger problem is that it's a rather nebulous goal, especially as the disease symptoms fluctuate quite a bit on their own and are progressive, so it's not necessarily that I can see a difference from my weight loss other than to think that if I had not lost any weight I would probably be feeling worse. But still that is part of my motivation and I think it is leading me in the right direction.
2) Whether fear leads you to eat. It doesn't, for me. I do tend to comfort eat for sadness, but fear makes me not hungry. Comfort eating doesn't tend to be my problem either way, though. I can feel very comforted by a nice low calorie bowl of soup or a small treat that I have budgeted the calories for. Celebration eating is my problem (see pass day above, see all 10 of my pass days for September). This is something I am learning from this Challenge.
I really like @WhatMeRunning 's idea of being motivated by joy along your weight loss journey - all the new joys you find in new recipes, new foods, new physical abilities, new exercises. I do really try to do that but should try to do that more. If I could find ways to celebrate that fit in my calorie budget that would be great.5 -

4 out of 3 Pass Days Used for me. Crazy as it sounds, I chose 2 glazed doughnuts last night over the chance of being in the Winner's Circle!! My Scoutmaster DH brought home 10 glazed doughnuts yesterday, leftover from the camping trip. Seems it was one of the scouts' birthday so there were doughnuts galore. I don't feel that bad about eating the 2 doughnuts because my DH ate FOUR of them! The remaining 4 however are all his.
After an indulgent weekend it's time for me to get back on the straight and narrow. I am thankful that I am in a healthy weight range for my height and all I am trying to lose are vanity pounds. After a weekend where both days I was well over my calorie budget however, it sets me back a little. So must focus and keep in mind "slim tastes better!"
Yesterday:
Tracked - Yes up until the 2nd doughnut and then I stopped
Within calorie budget - No, the 1st doughnut put me over
Exercised - Yes, a 30 minute walk on the treadmill

Tracking: Yes
Ate within budget: Yes, with a generous offset from the exercise, earning me a skinny cow ice cream sandwich - yum!
I would have to agree with comments made that fear never drove me to comfort food and overeating. For me it was feeling overwhelmed at work or at home, feeling a little low, or seeing those chili fries as my just reward for a hard day at the office. One of my favorite mantras these last few years though continues to be "you cannot use food to overcome your problems." Still works.3 -

Fear.
At times, it has helped.
At times, it’s not been in the picture at all.
A very complex issue.
If fear helps, yay.
If fear impedes one’s progress, boo.
If fear helps you take action, yay!
If fear leads you to make worse actions (in your opinion) unhappy face.
It varies.
