    Good morning gentlemen.

I just about finished the communion cup, yesterday. I still need to buff it up, then I'll take some photos. Got a message from a friend of our DDIL and DS. She likes some wooden mushrooms I turned that she saw at their house, and would like to buy some from me for her home and to give as gifts at Christmas. I guess I'll crank out some more mushrooms.

Stepped on the scale, yesterday, for the first time in a couple weeks. I was unchanged: still higher than I should be, but at least I didn't gain any.

Sassy woke me up early, again. I don't mind taking her out, but wish she'd go back to sleep, afterwards. Oh well, the coffee tastes great.

    Mornin' gents.

Can't wait to see the wooden chalice. As you know, Jesus of Nazareth was a carpenter by trade. He would probably highly approve of your chalice, Dave. He would probably like Bill's bread as well. I could maybe supply a fish or two.

Hot air balloon at low elevation went over the back yard just a while ago. The dogs went nuts.

Beautiful day on tap. Shame I gotta work.

Love your resilience and determination, Steve. Get your part for the greenhouse door yet?

    Be OP ;-)

    Good Morning!

I did get the part to the greenhouse door. It is almost all assembled now. I have a little to do to get it level, and then tie down the bottom with stakes and dirt.

We had some much needed rain, and now sunshine and cooler. It would be good to not be a work, and be out in the woods, instead. There are no home improvement projects in the woods.

Dave, looking forward to seeing the finished chalise.

Prayers all of you, and for your health.

    Have a great day!

    Slept in till 7:30... yikes.

DGD broke her ankle on a bouncy house. Might be doing some babysitting now and then, till she's mobile enough for school. Her dad works from home alot, but sometimes travels. DD is a trade school dental hygiene teacher.

Still need to dry my tent and groundcloths from last week, but the sun is shining, finally.

Sam, hope the hand gets some relief soon; sounds awful.

    Have a good day everyone.

Very nice, Steve! Glass or plexi?

So sorry about DGD, Mike. Those bouncy houses have a reputation.

Thank you! Plexi. It is just a small starter thing (4x10). I'm hoping it gives me a jump start on plants in the spring. I want to maybe figure out if it is possible to keep heat in it with a small heater. I have a thermostat for a heater. I don't know yet. I will also need to come up with a shade cover for when it is really hot out. I'm hoping it won't be more work and less blessing.

I just came in from buffing the communion chalice (that does sound classier than "cup"). Here is the completed set. I'm pretty happy with the outcome. I'll also post a photo with the alder cup to show the contrast with the figured maple.

    Good Morning

I am sorry to hear about your DGD Mike. What a sudden end to a fun time.

A good bake yesterday per my wife. I hope to get back to baking most of our regular bread. Homemade bread doesn't last too long but is so much better and, I enjoy the process, even if my kneading days are behind me. A bit of shopping & music today before heading off to my pool session. I may throw in some token cleaning just so I can say I did it. Temps have dropped again along with the humidity. Hopefully, the new humidifier I received yesterday will keep the bedroom stable so I don't have to keep tuning my dulcimer.

Wow Dave you are right the figured maple is even better. Frosty morning at 30-32deg in our neighborhood and close by. Rode my winter bike over the wetland bridges as it has much better traction with small carbide studs on frosty, icy spots.
Soo sorry about your DGD Mike. broken ankles just suuuuck. My neighbor across the street (older guy about our age) broke his ankle at a recent wedding he attended and is now using a one legged scooter for his right leg. A long recovery for older folks.

Dave, what beautiful work! Wow! Your church congregation will be blessed. I grew up Lutheran. We called the communion cup a chalice. In our church, it was only symbolic. The congregants took communion in little plastic disposable cups.
