Maternity Exercise Gear

Just wondering what all of you are doing in terms of exercise gear. At the moment (21 weeks) I'm still wearing all my normal exercise clothing, but KNOW that I need to get larger sports bras and am thinking ahead to what on earth I am going to wear to the gym at 30 weeks. The sports bra part is easy - Moving Comfort, here I come - but I'm wondering if any of you have found anything promising in the way of maternity exercise clothing. None of the mainstream exercise wear companies seem to make maternity wear (Lululemon, Under Armour, et al, you could make a killing on this. Just saying.). I might be able to continue to wear my Lululemon yoga pants throughout, under the bump, but it is the top that I'm really concerned about. Any thoughts? What have you guys found, if anything?

I got some from Zulily. The brand was "contact" or something, and the tops are great but I should've bought a size up in the bottoms. They were super cheap which is good. Roll top yoga pants also are basically maternity pants in my opinion... you just unroll them upwards.

Well, maybe I'm a weirdo but I don't feel that exercise specific clothing is really necessary, pregnant or not. I do like moisture wicking material in the pants/sports bras but the tops don't bother me (I do stick to cotton if I can). I just wear a normal baggy or stretchy t-shirt/tank top (sometimes maternity, sometimes not) and stretchy pants/capris. IMO- Clothes don’t have to be sold in the exercise department to work. My Target or Old Navy t-shirts/tanks work just fine for exercise.....and I will still wear them after baby comes so no money is wasted. This is my third baby though..........so I am all about being practical, lol!
  • I saw some maternity exercise gear at Old Navy the last time I was there. I haven't bought any yet, so don't know how they fit/hold up.

I was able to wear my regular running shorts all the way through my last pregnancy (and my Lululemon yoga pants) as they sat under my bump and had an oversize running top. However, this time I want to get this "running for two" shirt cos it's so cute:

Heaps of maternity exercise gear on this site.
