I have bought a demo mountain bike before. It was a Niner Air 9 and was in great shape. It was a bike that was not used much because it was a odd size. I got a great deal on it and I had no issues at all with it. However I also had a friend who bought a demo Trek Superfly 100 Elite. He had horrible luck. The frame was is good shape but the components all were very used and most he ended up replacing. So this probably doesn't help much but I think if you do your research you can get good deals from Demo bikes.

Sure. I mean, I'd take a really close look at it. Most things on a bike should be fairly obvious.

I'd expect a deep discount though - as the lifetime frame warranty won't apply.

For me it would all boil down to how much you trust the individual shop.
