    Good morning gentlemen.

Sassy is contentedly chewing on a piece of split antler, so I can type in peace.

To day is my mother's 98th birthday. Amazing that she still lives on her own in the house where I grew up, down in Salem. She needs a walker to get around, but still makes her meals and takes care of herself. She spends most of her time either weaving on one of the two looms she has in her sunroom, or watching TV. She has asked my sister to drive her up to Washington in a couple weeks. She will visit here in Tumwater on a Saturday, then go to Tacoma, where my sisters stepdaughter and family live, on Sunday, before heading home to Salem. I think she is trying to do things "one last time."

More rain with a gale warning on Puget Sound, today. They are predicting heavy snow in the mountains for this weekend. So it goes.

Cleaning the shop, today. Choir practice tonight.

What a gorgeous lamp, Dave. I think the outer, threaded part of the socket is supposed to connect to the wide prong on the plug.

Bob, sorry to hear about your sister’s death.

Gosh, Lee, those prices are astronomical. I hope the drug turns out to be helpful for you. How long would you be in the research study that defrays the cost?

Canoe trip yesterday was awesome! Shot over multiple be@ver dams in the fast current, paddled cautiously through a 1/4 mile section of rapids (bounced off multiple rocks toward the end) and enjoyed a campfire lunch above a bend in the river before heading over the last two miles of flooded marshes. Before starting we bushwhacked over a hill to check if the rapids looked passable.

My paddling buddy’s wife has maybe another 6 months or a year till her cancer ends her life. Hard situation…

    Frost again this morning.

    Have a good day.

Nice Dave. I am the youngest (soon to be 76y/o) and my mom passed at 90y/o. My sister just passed on Halloween at 91 years old. At times she was not only my big sister but almost like a second mom to me. When I am depressed I too sometimes think of last time events myself. I know I rode my last 200 mile one day bike ride quite a few years ago.
Thanks for the thoughts Mike. Gorgeous photo! Our closest beavers which were on the rise a few years ago seem to be on the decline now with some local developments etc.

    Good Morning

Mike that is quite a peaceful photo. Simply beautiful.

Early follow-up appointment with the Urologist then home to be productive at something. I have many options. I need to get things done before I head off on Monday to see my 94yr old mother in Wisconsin. It has been 4 years between back flare ups and pandemic.

Sam, I don't see my mom very often. When we first moved to Washington we drove down every six weeks or so, but that gradually decreased. COVID put a real stop to my visits south. We stopped by the old homestead when we picked up Sassy from the breeder. That was the first time I had seen my mom in a year and a half. The last time she was here was about five years ago.

    Good Morning!

Wow, Mike! Such a beautiful photo! I know that I did not get out in the woods enough this year, and I will certainly do better about that next year. I also plan to do some winter hiking.

Bob, still holding you in prayer.

In my roll as corporate controller/CFO, I find myself being the HR officer as well. Larger companies where I have worked, we had a professional HR person who reported to myself, or was available to me. For example, when I was plant controller, I had a corporate person that I could call. I find myself getting to listen to all sorts of challenges that our employees face. For example, this morning, one of our employees was telling me about how is wife is dying, and they need to put her in hospice. My heart just aches for these people. It adds to the stress of my job, but in a somewhat OK way. I help when I can, and pray in earnest. In this particular case, he is asking for a $700 loan to help cover some immediate expenses. We have a zero interest loan program, and get paid back through payroll deduction. We don't want these people going to payday loan sharks.

Otherwise, things are busy, but OK. My BP might be coming down?

    Have a great day!

    Afternoon gents.

I was incorrect...further research is that the month's supply is $6000, not per injection. So makes more sense since my copay is about 15%.

On the phone with specialty prescription service right now trying to work out the co-pay card supplied by the company that manufactures Enbrel. Seems to be some sort of issue.

Love the serenity of the photo and the natural beauty of the landscape. Thank you Mike.

Really good that your company has the no interest loan program, Steve. It would be nice if they had a professional HR person to take the load off of you.

Happy Birthday to Dave's mom! That's some good genetics!

You are going to outlive us all, Bob. Your posts always seem to be so darn cheerful, it is difficult to imagine you feeling depressed, which I hope isn't often.

Me dad always called the urologist the D**k doctor. Funny guy, me dad.

    Be OP ;-)
