Good morning gentlemen.
Sassy has the household up early, this morning. Still on Daylight Savings Time.
Unusual occurrence yesterday. Driving the car when a tornado warning broke in on the radio program. First time I've heard one since we left Texas, 24 years ago. Turns out it was for a county 50 miles from here and was broadcast farther than intended - and no tornado actually formed. Still, we are getting stranger and stranger weather. This is the second straight la Nina winter in the Pacific, so expect another season like last year: very rainy and cool, with heavy snow in the mountains.
Want to spend time in the shop, today, attempting to make something for DGS' 6th birthday, Dec. 2.
Have a good one.0 -
Mornin' gents.
First time staying at a Red Roof Inn without my puppies. Nicest RRI I've ever stayed at and in a nice location. Wish I did have my pups.
Tried to arrange a half day fly fishing charter today. Guy never returned my call or text. Not a big deal really. Will spend some time with my dad's widow while my sister oversees the movers she hired to move all her stuff into her retirement community apartment.
It has been a warm and wet fall here in New England. Usually by this time, all the leaves are down. We still have at least 30% of the trees that haven't dropped.
Got into the room just before midnight and was asleep by midnight thirty. Could not sleep past 6 AM. Might get a nap in later.
Be OP ;-)

Good Morning,
Beautiful day here0 -
Good Morning
Here in Wisconsin I get a taste of fall that I don’t get back home. Lots of trees and colors on the more stubborn trees. We had a nice visit with my mom who was having a bad day so we stayed with her at assisted living listen8ng to the Frank Sinatra channel on Sirius radio. Growin up in in NY WNEW always played “The Chairman of The Board”. We brought in some Chinese for dinner. I stuck with Brocoli Beef, and will eat left overs for breakfast. Pain levels are easing enough I decided to skip the Tramadol. It turns out I shouldn’t be taking it with the max level of Gabapentin I am on. So I will tough it out till I make it home. I did sleep when I took the Tramadol. But I was exhausted from the higher pain levels and short sleep already.0 -
The calm before the storm. Suppose to get Several inches of rain here between now and Fri starting tonight. Maybe 2.5 inches near PDX, 4" on the coast and maybe 8" in the coast range.
Had nice dry chilly ride early this a.m. It is possible to have waterspouts on the coast and on rare occasions tornadoes too.1 -
Mornin'.
Cool and cloudy here, after a gorgeous, almost 70º, sunshiney fall day yesterday. Snow showers forecast for Sunday. They need lots of snow in the mountains out west to quell that awful drought.
I was up late fiddling with my clock spring winder, tweaking this and that problem. I finally got a spring all the way out of the barrel and freely unwound, and it was so big I couldn't get it to rewind to get it back in. Diameter of the coil went from 2" to 3 feet. (Comical, but not at 11:30 PM. And was up at 4:45 this morning.) Making some design modifications to get this under control.
I set up a camping sleeping pad and pillow on the floor, to do my hip PT stretches and strengthening. I really want to heal up so I can get out on the trails again. And when I do, I need to remember to not to overdo. Set a limit on how far I hike, until I'm used to it, and then up it, but not too much at once.
