Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes?
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day?
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank?

When I signed up in November to be a content creator, this is not what I intended to post. I was fairly confident that I could make it through the holidays and still be in the Winner's Circle....
I just want to wish everyone a Happy New Year! For those of you that are sailing through December, kudos to you! If you are struggling like me, let's just try to move forward even if it is only baby steps!
16 -
Even baby steps puts you miles ahead of the couch potatoes!

@bradkcrew and @BMcC9 - spot on for both those memes. My 2021 weight loss won’t make headlines, but I’m thrilled to be here, still plugging along, regardless of the speed. Every baby step is an improvement.9

For everyone struggling, or feeling like quitting, or wondering if/when to start again...
THIS is when it counts! THESE are the moments you want to do everything you can! You don't have to succeed. You only have to try. If you do that, just think how much easier it will be to succeed during simpler times.13 -
I think sometimes when things take a long time it's easy to feel discouraged but I often ask myself "where will you be in six months if you don't keep trying" ... the time will arrive regardless13

@bradcrew and @BMcC9 – two very good and timely thoughts for today.
Taking a short break – a rest on the staircase while you brace yourself for the next step – is not quitting. As long as you keep on trying – keep plugging in here, keep reminding yourself of the “why” you are doing this, you will get there. We have all made changes that improve our health, you really don’t want to go backwards.
Yesterday @donna25trinity mentioned getting disheartened by the message MFP posts about where you will be in 5 weeks’ time. I just want to say that, like @biketheworld, I never close my diary.
Pay no attention to that message – it assumes that every day will be exactly the same, which it won’t, especially at this time of year.
I found that I couldn’t close my diary while I was losing weight because I was so often under the magic 1,200 calories. How can I average 1,200 per day without being under most days to balance out the occasional day over? It's just daft and unhelpful.

Such encouraging posts today from everyone! I needed the encouragement today as well. As many others have already said, we can do this if we just #dontgiveup6 -
20th Dec
Love the intro, sounds like it's just wat alot of us needed to hear! @lesdarts180 and @biketheworld i like the strategy u use with not completing ur diary! Genius!!! I shall give it a try. Wenever I go back to weight loss faze I get really microfocused on restricting calories as this has been my old diet mentality then after a long day thinking about it I came to the same conclusion as last time I need to be flexible & not too restrictive every single day. So some days eat at a deficit and others wen I need to eat more then eat at maintaince. Lastly I need to continue to track honestly. Xox
*30 min jog, weights walk & stretch.
*Meditation and journaling
* Under maintaince calories today
* Tracked every blt
* Monitored sugars and under.
I'll jump on later and read all ur posts. Hve a fab day Xo

Carrying 7 pass days on the month after my landslide the past few days.10 -

1/3 pass days
I have several work out shirts,each with its own motivational message. On bad days I will wear one that says, "I won't quit but I will cuss the whole time." It just reminds me I don't have to like it but I have to do what I need to do.6 -
Goodness I needed to read your posts today and am glad I popped on here. Thanks @bradcrew @BMcC9 @biketheworld @WhatMeRunning @LazyBlondeChef
I just saw a post by @mshawski and @seilidhe — both of who I was just wondering about. I was glad to see you both. Also thinking of @Jana_2020 and hoping she is keeping well.
I am going to stop closing out my diary too. The messages it gives cause me to spin out some days.
Be kind to yourselves.

Ate ~50 of my exercise calories today in extra protein (yes, I went OVER my protein macro today). All clean eating; just extra hungry. I figure the extra protein saved me from eating chippies which I was craving otherwise.
Exercise was 30 minutes in addition to meeting my step goal. Time to increase that goal again.2 -
Dec 20
Exercise: more than an hour (between walk-about and exergame); before supper I was already at over 12.000. MUCH more that I have managed for several days.
Logged: everything
Within Goal: fitbit gave LOTS of activity credits; leaving at least 2/3s in the pot.
So far fitbit is staying connected. I presume it is logging correctly (not getting insane numbers, sometimes 2 identical fitbit lines in the MFP exercise log, but then I simply delete one and leave the other)
A 30-day "3 doodles-a-day" self-challenge to break through my fear of active-creativity / "not drawing it correctly". Started Dec 6 (15 for 15 so far!)

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, 50 minutes Peloton, 29 minutes walking, 15 minutes Barre
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
Had a bigger supper than planned and did an extra session on the bike to account for it. It wasn't so crazy that it was out of reach, but it was going to involve extra activity I didn't originally have penciled in.
I had a moment where I thought "you could just not..."
And then I thought, nah! The bike is fun for me. You can do this. So glad I did!
Not holiday related, but my husband and I are on this journey together, and we were both reflecting yesterday that it will never feel easier or like we'll be able to let our guards down. My default is not to be doing ANY of this. But boy do I feel amazing and that is worth it to keep myself working on my new way of life. I have established great habits, I have a clear idea of what I want to accomplish every day, and I go out and do that.. but there is a girl who is unruly with food and loves to sit on her butt that is still inside me. Not sure she ever goes away..
