Dec 17
On target for the day - successfully resisted the takeout the rest of my family got.
Exercise - 15 minutes MommaStrong, 40 minutes walk with a friend
Tracking - Planned the day
Calories - Under
Pass days so far - 7?
My plans for the holidays as far as temptations - 2 extended family gatherings and probably some things with just my family, like cookie decorating and some takeout.
I don't have any ambitious plans to be fully on track before the end of the year. I think I will keep muddling through as I have since Thanksgiving - trying to be on track when I can, when there is nothing tempting planned. If it's a get together day, I will try to focus on the joy of seeing people and being together and not what we are eating. But those will be pass days, just trying not to go "hog wild."
Overall I am considering this a bit of a break in my slow and steady pace, and I hope to refocus on weight loss in January.4 -

Pass day number 9 for me. It was a bust all across the board in terms of exercise, tracking and calories.
You all continue to inspire me, and despite my poor track record here, I take to heart all of your wisdom and enthusiasm on our shared journey.
Plans for the holidays: my older daughter will be arriving tomorrow from the east coast and my younger daughter's boyfriend will arrive on the 23rd. It will be just the 5 of us with perhaps a friend from our volunteer place for a low-key Christmas dinner. We haven't planned the menu yet, but leaning towards doing homemade pasta and sauce with a lot of veggie sides. Christmas morning will be sticky buns and something savory. We had planned for the 5 of us to go backpacking in Marin to a place that overlooks the Pacific Ocean for two nights right after Christmas but weather forecasts shows solid rain for the next 10-12 days, so we might cancel.
Plans to stay on track through the end of the year: with 9 pass days already, I clearly haven't done a great job of planning so far. I already know that with my family around, I tend to overeat because I cook bigger meals every day vs just a salad or soup for dinner. I don't know...I need to think this out. This was a great question.6 -

So far my husband and I have been happily avoiding our old way of eating at holidays. We are extremely happy eating pretty low carb and avoiding buying processed food. Starting this Wednesday we will have his family Christmas and my husband signed us up to bring a veggie tray and a jello salad. It is a buffet so I will probably stay low carb without two much difficulty unless I decide I want to indulge in a dessert. My two sons and my oldest´s partner will be at my house for several days. We will plan our meals together then but I think the fact that the family has always been flexible will work in our favor. I will just make sure there are plenty of dishes I can have and keep my portions small if my son fixes any special dishes that don´t fit well with my plan. All of them are very supportive of my weight loss. All three of our guests are runners, two are training for marathons, and none are food pushers.
My youngest son is home with us today and he is the most flexible of all. When we went out for lunch my husband offered two choices of restaurants. I was happy with my delicious salmon and grilled vegetables and felt no temptation to ask for a bit of my son´s pasta. So far the holiday has not been difficult for me and I am not expecting it to be too much worse. We enjoyed going to the indoor farmer´s market today to buy some bison roasts and kombucha. We are focusing on allowing ourselves to spend money experimenting with new high quality foods--- with quality being willing to pay for healthier food and make an event and hobby out of cooking it instead of buying cheap sugary stuff.

Exercise: lots and lots of exergame steps plus outdoor walking.
Logged: All logged
In Range: even had enough to know I had earned an evening snack
Plans for the holiday: mostly quiet. Local changes being announced tomorrow - not full lockdown but some restrictions being re-tightened (maximum numbers in stores tightened / numbers for indoor gatherings (may affect plans for 23rd?)
Omicron rules permitting, gathering of Hubby's intown relatives (with some place that does takeout or delivery doing the cooking) on the 23rd. Everyone already double vaxed.
My son (double vaxed)and my mother (double vaxed plus booster) will be having Turkey Dinner at our place on Dec 25. - again "Omnicron rules permitting" (she lives in a retirement residence and he lives downtown in our town / we are in the "far end of the suburbs" )
Plans for staying on track the rest of the month: Relatively straight forward for me. Only one pass day used so far (and even that is only because I can't get the end-of-evening 100 cal bike ride to register in such a way as to cancel the 75 cals over that the Food Log was showing)- 23rd may or may not be problematic as I have no control over the menu choice (but i DO have control over the rest of the day and can get exercise done/ keep most calories available for the evening meal).
- 25th will either be fine or potentially barely a pass (I have control over the menu as well as the rest of the day and will work at planning accordingly - but there are rarely seconds AVAILABLE, and we normally wouldn't have stuffing or gravy available.
- That only leaves NYE ... only hubby and me - may depend on whether we choose to crack open a bottle of wine or not.
There CAN be advantages to having a very limited social circle .... fewer events to work around
Personal Extra Challenge: A 30-day "3 doodles-a-day" self-challenge to break through my fear of active-creativity / "not drawing it correctly". Started Dec 6 (11 for 12 so far!)

I have been blessed this week. The very large mass was removed from my abdomen and the pathology came back as benign lipoma. I am so thrilled.
@tahm42 I'm sorry I'm late in responding. But Im going back through old posts and somehow I had previously missed this one! I just had to stop and say and great big WOO HOO! and Thank the Lord!! Hopefully you are mending well and getting lots of rest!!1 -
@Mrs_Hoffer I am mending but the doctor has not ordered rest. He wants me walking 10000 steps and 20 on the elliptical. I think he is a sadist. I am up 5000 but no elliptical yet. I praise the Lord for my good results and I believe the doctor even enjoyed telling me as he kept reiterating I am not a cancer patient so I don't need heparin shots. The nurses said he never let's anyone go home without heparin.4
