Good morning,
I'm a current breast cancer warrior. I was diagnosed back in April with stage 3 breast cancer. I've already made it through ACT chemo (4 AC and 4 high dose dense Taxol) and a double mastectomy with 26 lymph nodes removed. I'm about to start 28 rounds of radiation in January. I'm a little nervous but I made it through everything else so far with help and lots of jokes.
I've always had an issue with weight and eating habits. I've been tentatively diagnosed with binge eating disorder and I have PCOS. My current cancer battles have really refocused where I need to make changes in my life. I cut out most sugars during treatment but the holidays brought those bad habits back. I want to regroup and work on that again. I'm not sure how what reactions I'll have to radiation but I want to try and make sure that I get more active as soon as possible. The plan is to start with walking and a stationary bike I bought as a get off your *kitten* since you kicked *kitten* through chemo. After the burns and such heal I plan to start working on strength training. I want to build up some of the muscle I've lost and strength training seems more engaging than just cardio.
Thank you for having this group. It's wonderful to have support on both my cancer and weight loss journey. I hope to get to know as many of you as I can and find friends to help and find help along the way!
