When you prepare a garden salad, I learned the hard way of pouring salad dressing. Instead of pouring a ton of ranch or Italian or French or whatever you like... Get out a bottle of oil and vinegar. Take the bottle caps off. Use 2 cap fulls of each sparingly. Very satisfying. Tastes just as good as a dressing but even better.

    Yummy! I also used seasoned rice vinegar with a bit of salt, with or without the olive oil. It is especially good over cucumber salads (sliced cucumber, sweet onion, bell pepper). It's a real treat!

    Weight Watchers had a tip years ago that you serve a little dressing on the side, and dip your fork in the dressing before putting the fork in your salad. That way, you get the taste without a lot of calories.
