Pass Day 7
Exercise: 15 minutes MommaStrong, 40 minutes walking
Tracking: Planned the day
Calories: Followed the plan, but with some extra nibbles, especially at night. There are way too many delicious treats in my house and it's giving me a lot of trouble. @Mrs_Hoffer, I aspire to your level of being able to resist. I am so far from it.
My NSV for the month... I am first tempted to say nothing, because the scale has not been moving in the right direction and that makes me feel like I am failing at this. And then I remembered that isn't that the point of a NSV? So, I am proud of how I have handled the last month (since mid-Jan). I got a vaccine on Jan 13 that then resulted in an autoimmune thyroid flare for the next 3 weeks that meant that I needed 9+ hours of sleep instead of my 7.5 hours usually needed and that it hurt to do any exercise. Meanwhile, I had a pretty busy time in work and in parenting/planning family life. So, in spite of my best intentions, many of my healthy habits - my morning routine of checking in here and exercise, my evening stretching - had to go temporarily. But, I mostly handled that with grace and acceptance. And as I have gotten better I have been easing back into everything bit by bit, returning to my habits joyfully and carefully. I am trying to not have the gaining strength trigger pain, which it can, by working out only every other day and stretching the other day. For the calorie tracking, I have been tracking at maintenance level as I try to figure out being really hungry and my constant desire to nibble and just how to make it all easier.
So, yeah, I think that's an NSV!13 -

NSV for me is that in spite of all of my pass days I'm still maintaining my weight within my preferred range. Technically that isn't a non-scale victory but the fact that I'm not doing damage counts in my book.

@Caroline_slowandsteady Woohoo! The fact that you're still here, and you're still working towards your goals (however small that progress seems to be!) is a WIN in my book every day! WTG!!!4 -

I'm excited to be gearing up for our weekend "get-away". Every year for my hubby's birthday, I like to surprise him and take him somewhere (usually a cabin get-away in the woods somewhere - with a hot tub!) And due to the pandemic, we haven't gone anywhere the last 2 years....... but this year we're going to N. Carolina because both of his children (and his grandchildren!) live there now! My DH doesn't know where we are going yet - and honestly, I'm very surprised that the kids and grandkids have been able to keep it a secret from his so far! He keeps guessing.... and wants me to give him clues... but I won't, because he's too smart and it wouldn't take much for him to figure it out!! Lol.13 -

Have been busy baking and cooking as we are heading up the highway and back on Wednesday. New (to us) car needs to be taken on a highway run before the 30 day warranty is up. Freezing temps here will make for a great test of it! We’ll have to have dinner with our daughter and her partner James while we are up there. I have given myself a “pass day ticket” should I wish to use it.
Two NSVs this month:
First NSV is that walking 10,000+ steps a day feels anchored and solid now — despite having to do it inside the house many days. Bring on spring! My goal now is to increase my exercise intensity to make improvements in my VO2 Max. Met with my exercise physiologist on Monday to have the testing done, and create a plan. Will be tested again mid-March to measure progress. I have a focus and a goal for this coming month.
Second NSV is that I conquered the kitchen junk drawer! I’ll spare you the story of my procrastination on this and how often I would rant about that drawer 🤬. The completion of the whole thing was so cathartic. The tray system I put in place makes it less likely that we will allow the ridiculous jumble to occur again.
Wishing everyone a good week. 🥰8 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes an hour walk and an hour zumba
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
Non scale victory - I fit all my cruise / summer clothes - actually they’re feeling loose so thrilled about that!

Nsv-I pass a lot of my free time walking either with hubby or dog or both. Due to my hurt calf muscle, I can’t right now. (Hoping to go a little bit today). Instead of getting all grumpy when hubby walked, I listened and listened to an audio book/played a game. Might not feel like an Nsv, but it was to me.
Pass day again. No exercise9 -

In a weird twist of an NSV, I tried on my favorite skorts that I always thought made me look slimmer. They are way too big and I'm sad about it. I'm sad that skorts that supposedly make me look slimmer are too big because I'm actually slimmer. That is just weird.
This made me laugh!
We need a laugh button on MFP!

I have screenshots on my tablet. They may relate to scales and weight trends ... but the REAL NSVs are that
- I figured out to log my daily weight into the Fitbit weight-trend function
- I figured out how to take a screenshot on tablet
