I grew up on the Mediterranean diet. I have attempted every diet that there is, but I always return to the Mediterranean diet.

The attached Mediterranean diet grocery shopping list makes shopping much easier.

One item not on the list is wine. Most Mediterranean diets include 2 glasses of wine each day.

Do you have a shopping list to share?

Tell me what you think.

Once a week, I challenge myself to only spend $5.00 at the local dollar store. My roommates do this also.

Thoughts of what I should I buy with $5.00 really is a challenge.

For this upcoming week, I have thought about buying popcorn and espresso. I get accused of eating all of the potato chips. Then, one roommate asks me to prepare coffee for her in the kitchen with the regular coffeemaker. Actually, she begs. Although I make mochas with my Keurig in my office, when I use the regular kitchen coffeemaker, the rule is I get the first cup and make myself iced coffee. But I do not like the darn Maxwell House she uses. I use coffee syrups to make the Maxwell House taste better. So, I think I am buying espresso at the dollar store as part of the $5.00 to spend.

As for popcorn? I have been craving popcorn all weekend! I can have 3 cups as opposed to other mini meals. Seems like gorging but 3 cups of popcorn is not gorging.

    How is my spending?

    How did I do?

We did our grocery shopping last night. I think I did pretty good on my end.

We spent $82.00 on groceries. All of the groceries were for my roommates except for 2 of my requests... being lunch meat and frozen burgers.

As those were my only requests, the lunch meat was a pound of oven roasted turkey for $9.29. I did not think I splurged. I do need to have food. I'm tired of salami and pepperoni. The lunch meat is going to feed me for a week.

The burgers were part of a 5 for 20 special. 5 various boxes frozen foods for $20.00. So, I was able to get a box of burgers.

    So, how did I do?

You're doing awesome! I know how hard it is to shop with roommates expecially if they don't eat the same things you do.

Thank you! Do you make actual grocery lists or do you just grab and go when at the grocery store?

I make a list to keep me grounded. But have a tendency to just grab other things whether planned and forgotten or just want them.

Whenever we roommates make a list, what I want has to go through the 2 roommate's approval. When the roommates want an item, the roommates just buy the item whether I like or not.

That's not fair to you expecially if you are paying the same amount into groceries as they are.

I just do not argue. They went to Sam's Club and got me Miracle Whip and salsa in bulk.

So, I prepared myself some macaroni salad. The two roommates do not like my macaroni salad. So, more for me! To last me a few days for grab and go.

A friend gave we gals 3 bags of tortilla scoops. So, we have plenty of salsa now with no disagreement.
