@kdblpn Your Gizmo is so sweet!! Enjoy!!
Another work week behind me. Weather was slightly warmer today so we got back outside with our dog at lunch for a walk.
We have a ritual of having a video call with Brad's mom on Friday night so he is down riding the bike now and I'll hop on afterwards so we don't have to do it after the call.
Brad has been busting out some insane meals - spaghetti with mussels and a homemade tomato onion garlic sauce for lunch today... no wonder I don't want to go back to the office where we'll be back on packed lunch duty5 -
Hard to believe, but we're hard up against the end of February Week 1! I'll be hitting the road really early tomorrow to head back North on what I hope will be improved roads. Right now they are covered with frozen slush and other lovely stuff. In any case, here is the round-up of all the remaining weigh-ins for the week:

Eating at maintenance so wasn't expecting to lose. A 500 calorie deficit was giving me a raging appetite but now I feel so much better. I will try to increase my activity and maybe try cutting again in March. We"ll see.6 -
Hi, late intro, Sylvia in Massachusetts, US, 53. My weight's fluctuated through the years - when I'd be at a good weight for me, it would never last beyond a couple years before it went way up again. Finally got it back down again in 2020 but maintaining it is not easy and I've gained back about 10-15 lbs. Stress from living with and caregiving for aging parents with medical issues while trying to keep my fulltime job has me reaching for 'stress' foods - if you can call ice cream a food. I start out the mornings good and devolves from there. Have been with this great group since my 2020 start. I'd like to make February be my 'come-back' month - weigh and prelog all my meals and stick to the plan!6

It is too bad. All the breads I didn't eat in January I ate this week. How is it possible, too much gain in week? Could be the amount of water I am drinking?

@jugar Safe travels today!!!
@happimess01 You are my inspiration!
@veronica1359 You've got this. Set your plan and make your week count. You've been checking in consistently so think about the things you want to focus on this week and we will be here to cheer you on!
Set the alarm for 5 a.m. to do a live 75 minute Peloton ride this morning... so Inspiring to be riding live with over 5000 fellow morning people. I set a PR for that length of class and for overall. The sweat was a drippin!! I love being productive first thing... nothing sets my day up for success more than that!
What does everyone have going on for the weekend?4 -

BUT! I'm eligible for a free replacement, I just have to ship in the old one first so I'll be without it for a few days. Maybe the new one will be more accurate and won't credit me record breaking stair climbs when I'm actually on the couch petting the cat...
Is that a Fitbit charge 4 by any chance? That’s what happened to mine. I read lots of people had that happen. Hope the new one is better. Oh by the way, the other day my Fitbit recorded a 29 minute swim 🏊♀️ for me. Unless there is an invisible pool in my house, I was no where near water. I have no idea what activity caused the confusion. 😂
@kdplpn Gizmo is adorable! So glad you have that adorableness to come home to after your difficult work. 🤗
@jugar Wishing you safe travels.
@EvMakesChanges Thank you for that! Wish the you could send them here too. You have such wise advice. I’m still enjoying F.E.A.R.

@evmakeschanges I have found that affirmations, like the one that you offer here that helped you, really do make a difference. Framing emotional eating in a proactive way can have a huge effect on one’s success. Thank you for the reminder!
@conleywoods I need to do extra fiber during my pre-menstruation time, as well. To address dry skin, my daughter and I made some homemade lotion bars from soy and bees wax, essential oils, rose petals, coconut oil, and almond oil. I have never had such moisturized skin that lasts all day. It was quite easy and fun.
@bonnie_ red Hi, Bonnie! I hear you about being in a mood. I hope that you find a way through it to feeling better soon. Moods always serve a purpose for me, and I try my best to appreciate their message.
@asleycarole86 I love cooking and people who cook! My ex-husband was a French chef and his meals were always incredible; plus, I learned a lot about cooking from him. Spaghetti with mussels (or any shellfish) is literally one of my favorite meals of all time!
Today’s check-in: I find it hard to synthesize all that I do in this group and in another similar group, and sometimes I feel overwhelmed. In order to streamline my work, I put together a quick website to house my fitness, diet, and wellness, and my reflections. So far, I only made one post (a few minutes ago), but I plan on cross posting here and there so that I can have one easy place to post. I am hoping that this helps me to stay motivated and focused. https://thehumanelectric.wordpress.com/

@ashleycarole86 thank you but I actually gained this week. It's mostly water weight as I am eating at maintenance.
I cleaned my apartment today for 6+ hours straight with a small lunch break and didn't get tired at all. I don't do any cardio so it feels good knowing I have some semblance of endurance. Although my back was hurting afterwards but it's fine now.6 -
@conleywoods it was me with the dry skin! Thanks for the suggestion, that product sounds awesome.
I got an unplanned tricep workout in this morning via scraping the layer of ice off of my car.
But I ended the day with some crazy eating, ugh. I'm trying to devise a new visual motivation tool/tracker of some sort. Maybe a rewards system. Or a big calendar of some sort in my kitchen.
I did get grocery shopping done today, and a bunch of meal prep as well. That makes my Sunday a lot easier. I'll do some baked dishes tomorrow. I am actually hoping for a short winter at this point because the snow really makes my walking harder, and I am going to get back into jogging/running this year. (the sooner the better!)4 -
It has been a mixed bag for the end of this week. Some gains, some losses - and some emotions!
@veronica1359 if you are like me, bread seems to have a huge effect! It makes me gain way more than the number of calories seems it should. But water might be part of it as well. Try some experiments over the next couple of weeks - put in bread for 2 days and see what happens, then take it away, all while staying around the same number of calories. It is always interesting to be your own experiment.
I got home and then had a complete pigging out episode this evening - the emotional eating bear came to visit, but it is going out the door now. Tomorrow will be back to routines! I did have a good but short snowshoe late this afternoon on my new snowshoes - it was wonderful! But then I came in and consumed a ridiculous number of calories. Tomorrow is a new day.
Week 2 starts tomorrow! Last call for our final 3 weigh-ins!

I'll do more catching up after doing the tallies in the morning. So glad to be home!4 -
happy Sunday! after my conscientious beginning - posting here - my day went to hell. Can't even explain how or why, just my expectations for the day to spend some time for me working on a years long sewing project got derailed by others. Was so frustrated I could've screamed or cried. Ate poorly. Texted with a good friend who helped turn things around to a laugh. Today I'm going to just put away the project for another time, take a page from @happimess01 and CLEAN and another page from @Kali225 and PREP for the week. And try to return to just shrugging and laughing about the day to day chaos... it's not forever. The food story here: Dad needs help with all meals, Mum on a feeding tube but needing to supplement & eat 1000 calories a day (fortunately she's now taking ownership of that and I don't have to chase her) and the blasted cat needs very specific food due to allergies and I discovered yesterday that what I thought was one remaining box is something else...running around to find his food today. And the laugh here too is monitoring everyone to ward off constipation - even the cat!!! Happily another food story is feeding the birds (& squirrels)...a pair of ravens have joined the feast this year...they come for the suet I toss on the ground for the gang of 7 crows.
@jugar glad you made it home safe and you've got snowshoes to play with!
have a good day to all of you.

Happy Sunday!
We might not have had our most spectacular week as a team, but we still squeaked into the top 3! I guess the whole group had a bit of the February doldrums.
@eggfreak I'm amazed that you are here at all with so much to take care of - and I'm also glad that you are here and hope it helps. I hit the post-helping-take-care-of-dad skids yesterday, and thought of you as I indulged in ice cream and cheered your courage and power. Today is CLEAN and PREPPED. And there is lots of snow to get out and play in. I hope you get a good day too!

Greetings Friends!
I'm not gonna lie - I've been having a bit of a rubbish time these past couple of weeks. I am especially missing our little dog, Edie who passed away just before Christmas. I also put my back out 10 days ago, and it's just finished healing. But I feel as if I haven't worked out in forever - and it's not a good feeling!
Frankly, my eating, workouts, walking, stepping, logging, hydration and all other things good for me have just about left the building.
BUT - despite the fact that my weigh-ins have increased week-on-week for the past 3 weeks - I am drawing a line in the sand from now.
Tomorrow morning I will arise -> meditate -> workout -> breakfast -> shower -> work -> lunch -> work -> supper
and hydrate through the day.
TTFN
PS - I also stopped coming in here daily - there's sure to be some correlation somewhere!

@happimess01 Hey - that's okay, you inspire me on maintenance too! I take weeks like that too where I eat at maintenance (or days of it) and I think it's a good skill to be able to transition between the two while you're losing.
@YinxFed Absolutely, not a problem at all. Sorry to hear you're having a rough time. The loss of a beloved pet is so hard, and a sidelining injury doesn't help with the January doldrums. I like your upcoming plan for tomorrow and I hope it keeps up for you.
@metaphysicalstudio I checked out the blog.. neat!

@YinxFed sorry you have been off track for a bit - it is so good to see you back and ready to pull the stupid wagon back onto the track and head off in the right direction. Good plan, now execute! Hugs to you.
@ashleycarole86 Please leave me off the step/exercise roster for last week because my tracker died and I had no charger with me. Now I'm home, back on the snowshoes and will be updating all the info for this week!
