Today I did not skip the full body workout with my son. I dread pretty much all the exercises but they aren't too bad. Plus I outlasted my son on planks by far! Go me!1

Monday: Conditioning at the gym- First day of new routine - shifting focus away from strength and more toward stability/balance, while continuing with endurance work, though shifting away from steady state and going more tabata style.
Feeling all the DOMS today.1 -
Ouch. Tabata is pretty grueling.
It was an arm day today. My arms are still recovering from Saturday, but I managed1 -
Tuesday: Stretching and slow kick work. Stretching was a bit difficult, but once I warmed up, wasn't quite as bad as I thought, and surprisingly the kick work wasn't too bad either - yes, it seems I'm not hitting all the same muscles every day, which is exactly what I am shooting for. Was a little worried with the switch in routine, but so far, so good.1

Wednesday I went for a 50 minute walk with my friend. Not sure how far because when I got back Strava let me know I had gone nowhere. I forgot to switch on GPS. Also did some legs with my son. We incorporated some of the things I did in Saturday's circuit training.1

Wednesday saw me back for more conditioning - 2nd day with the new routine.
It's a very small HOA gym. I really enjoy it because it means most days I don't have to share it with anyone - it makes up for not having much equipment by being mostly private. It was unusual that near the end of my workout 3 people came in and took over all the cardio equipment. No sprinting for me - next time.0 -
Thursday - Stretching - I skipped any technique work, as I was especially sore from conditioning. Managed to get some good stretching in, but it took more effort than usual, mentally and physically.
I think I need to adjust my sleep a bit - next week I want to add more forms practice, and I need to be on top of my game.1 -
Friday - More grinding at the gym - I've scaled back some of the exercises, both in sets and reps for lower body. Though I was gaining in strength, I found that it was really taking a toll on my flexibility - so at least for the next several weeks, I'm going to maintain the strength, but really focus on range of motion stability and flexibility.
Saturday - teaching a new student - 1 hr park practice of basics.1 -
Thursday we skipped core because my son had done PE at school and it was a terribly hot day.
Saturday was my usual training. Did some kata drills1 -
Sunday: Black belt class. Did a lot of lower form review, 1-steps, board breaking practice and worked on breath control throughout, as it was fairly continuous. Good class1
