I have really struggled this winter, and I am so thankful that we finally see signs that spring is on its way!
Visualization is a new tool for me and I am using it to help to keep me engaged and motivated. I have been thinking a lot about what I want my life to be like three months from now when summer will have just arrived. I have no regrets about the past three months, but may have found more joy had I used visualization, so I am giving it a try.
Three months from now:- My seedlings will be in the ground (last day of frost is predicted as May 21 for us this year) and my new garden plan will be "rooted'. Fresh herbs, greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini will be in abundance as the summer progresses! That plan and all the steps I am taking now will bear fruit and I'll be making further plans to use all my bounty in delicious healthy meals.
- I'll have just returned to outdoor pool life and be able to swim lengths, water jog, and experience the joy of moving in the water again.
- I'll be back to walking outdoors ALL the time, and the "dreadmill" will be folded away for the summer (thanks @mshawski for adding that word to my vocabulary )
- I will be wearing the lovely summer clothes that I had packed away a few years ago and look forward to picking out some new clothes too )
I look forward to reading what you feel comfortable sharing with us π₯°9 -
That's timely ... by the end of three months I should be settled in my new home in a new state and no more stress. Then I can get back to eating more healthy and return to EPIC. And grow tomatoes successfully which I can't do where I currently live.7

In three monthsβ¦
*Iβll be back to being able to run 5 miles a couple times a week (Iβm coming out of winter at 3 miles per run, and my body doesnβt react well if I ramp up distance too quickly. π€π½).
*I will have my garden in place and that makes me happy.
*In a dream world my puppy and cats will reach an agreement and my house will longer be divided by baby gates that I swear Iβm going to throw a hip out stepping over. (Getting this out into the universe in hopes of a cosmic assist π)
*I will have made enough progress in the right direction that I feel good about it.

3 months from now? I will have to think on that!
From 18 March ThemeThis is my identity based March Tiny Habit. For the next 14 days:
I am a person who values the health and fitness of body, mind, and spirit.
I will refrain from eating after 9pm to allow my body to concentrate on processing CI
Me: 23 ~|~ LNS: 0 (Streak = 27)
This has definitely worked for me. My CI have reduced this month.
I know some people believe that all calories are equal. However, I was checking my macros today and I realised that my Fat%age has been creeping up, which I do not think is healthy for my body.
I will prelog my CI first thing in the morning to ensure that I am within 2% my daily specified goal for Fat%age

I just went cold turkey on this one. Itβs had the unexpected effect of restarting my weigh loss.

Found this little one today on a 5 mile paddle.
In 3 months I will be back in Florida diving caves with hubby.
Hopefully I will be also be swimming on swim team again.
I hope my cut will have me leaner and my lifting will have me stronger.

Thinking of you as you pamper that knee and get it back in good form again Stella π You are doing great and every day of commitment brings more success for you. I love that you can see the positive future for yourself π₯°2 -

You are amazing Maryann! Being able to start back at a three mile run is so fantastic. So glad to know another gardener here (though I am truly a newbie). Will look forward to learning about your bounty over the summer months. Weβve had about two in the past 23 years with no baby gates π€ͺ I highly recommend the squeeze handle swing gate model. But Iβll send cosmic goodwill that your pup will be different than the four dogs weβve owned.2 -

Iβve rather got out of the habit of looking ahead in the last two/three years. My son was diagnosed with a brain tumour in Oct 2019, in the following few weeks he had to have a biopsy (ie a hole drilled into his brain) and shortly afterwards he suffered an βepisodeβ when he nearly died due to excessive intercranial pressure. Luckily, both of these spells in hospital ICU were before Christmas 2019 so there were no Covid restrictions or complications but we spent weeks not knowing what the next day would bring. Sitting by his hospital bed just taking it one day at a time.
He had treatment and another year of relatively good health, but we could never plan ahead, never knew when he might be sick. He died in March 2021 β after a few weeks when he was deteriorating fast β and we held the funeral in early April.
The first awful year without him is over, just the anniversary of the funeral to get through, but Iβm still struggling and find looking forward difficult knowing that none of our plans will include him.
I do have a holiday to look forward to in May β to Kos - and perhaps by June I will have made more holiday plans.5 -
In three months my business will be closed and I will be completely retired. You will find me out in my garden, or reading depending on the weater, playing pickleball or tennis, cooking or fermenting some new healthy food, or at a class or swimming at the Y.4

@LazyBlondeChef Iβm happy for you that this current really stressful period will be over, that youβll have the hope of fresh tomatoes from your own garden π©βπΎπ , and it will be so much easier for you when you can be back to your healthy routines. Hang in there. ππ»ππ»ππ»

@jamcnewman yes that is manatee calf. Mom Manatee was right there. It was beautiful. I have had manatee moments before but this was special. It is really late in the season to actually have an encounter. I was hopeful but really did not expect to see any.3

Where will I be in 3 months ?
I am glad I read this this morning, maybe thatβs what got me going for today I know where I donβt want to be. I would like to be riding my mountain bike with hubby or daughter. I would like to be in my pool (weather permitting) we usually open the weekend before Memorial Day. I would like to be looking for shorts for work that are one size smaller. There are several things that I would hope to accomplish so I will continue to work on them at the same time. Thanks for making me think @jamcnewman π4 -

3 months from now: Iβll be finished executing a major program/celebrating Juneteenth and Fatherβs Day and my Wedding Anniversary. Putting the final touches on a Recommendation Report, And preparing for my sonβs 9th bday (July) and going to California for a family reunion (Aug).
If I can keep a grip holistically on my health during this time tooβthat will be amazing.3 -

Iβm going to chew on your question more.
Three months from now -- how will your life be? What will you have achieved in the three months that follow today? What can you do today, tomorrow, and in all the days until then to make sure you achieve that change?
Thanks for bringing up visualization. I miss my vegetable gardening btw.2 -

I'm not the best at setting personal goals or looking ahead at times, but it's fun to think about.
Three months from now -- how will your life be? What will you have achieved in the three months that follow today? What can you do today, tomorrow, and in all the days until then to make sure you achieve that change?
-I'll be spending my weekends at our trailer at Pine Lake and going on longer gravel bike rides with my husband
-I'll be continuing my fitness journey and finding new ways to improve how my body moves either on the bike or in strength training
-I'll either still be slowing losing within my normal BMI range or I'll have found my happy place of maintenance to begin my journey there
-I'll be taking lots of outdoor walks with the other love of my life, my sweet Maltese Morgan
-Re-adjusted to the routine of returning to office part of the week
-Adapting to changes within my household as I expect my mother will be living in our basement by then
