One of my favorite days of the month! 😊
What's YOUR NSV (Non Scale Victory) this month?
The pic below represents "trending" downward.... we all "mess up" occasionally. But you gotta get right back to it! Don't let a binge day turn into a binge week.... or worse! 🍬 🍫 🍭
Where are you going to draw the proverbial line in the sand? You've worked TOO HARD to get to where you are!
What's YOUR NSV (Non Scale Victory) this month?

Tuesday
Exercise: Yes - walking
Tracked all: Yes
Calories under: Yes
(1/3 pass days used so far)
My NSV mainly relate to fitting clothes better...and looking less puffy3 -
Checking in on today's topic as I never get around to doing more than sending in 3 checks or a pass at night.
Oh the progress line. The latter half of 2021 and first couple of months of 2022 went the wrong way for me, and I gained like 15-20 back - so my progress line is apparently really into mountain climbing these days. LOL. I bit the bullet and entered my actual weight Sunday, instead of just not weighing in for 5 months because I didn't want to admit it. I'm not sure I'm drawing a line in the sand right now per se, I think I'm more just completely fed up with sand in my bathing suit and I need to go fix that ASAP before I blow a fuse. [Insert debate on whether I get to wear the progress rings I've earned if I slipped below the mark I earned them at.]
I feel like this is going to sound like a total pessimistic attitude, but it's kind of the truth - I took way too long to realize I can't just binge eat until things get better because ya know... it's always one thing after another and I'm not sure its going to get "better". Just different, and I need to stop waiting for the light at the end of the tunnel to get here or I'm never going to make the progress I'm looking to make.
A nicer way to look at it: these scale spikes are at least helping me learn lessons that will help when I hit maintenance. WHEN, not if.6 -
@mshawski I understand you so well. 8 kg plus just in a couple of months. We all know that binge eating is not going to solve our problems, but most probably create additional ones. Just don't give up. Easy to say...5

• DAY 32 of EPIC I | SHOULDERS & OBLIQUES 54 min.
• Jogging 6.4 km in 0:44:59 (7:01 min/km); VO2max: 39
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes

Last month I mentioned my weird non-scale victory of the cute and slimming skorts that didn't fit anymore and I was sad about that because I was actually slimmer. I really liked those skorts! I found them on Amazon and bought them in a size 10 (previously was a 14). I was so happy to receive them and they fit perfectly.8

@mshawski I believe that even when I get to "maintenance", I'll still be doing a series of "ups and downs".... the scale never stays the same for me - NEVER. The key for me has been to STOP the "upward" slant of the progress line in between the 5-10 lb mark.....
I ABSOLUTELY REFUSE TO GAIN THE WEIGHT BACK AGAIN THIS TIME!!
.... and it's interesting that you brought up your rings! I never thought about giving them up - until you hit those milestones again! Hmmm, might not be a bad idea! In any case, I'm so glad to see you're back!! Spring is coming, and it's the perfect time to hit it hard again! You go this!!6 -
Exercise: Yes. I did yoga. Had planned on cycling but last night's commute home in jeans was a stupid and painful mistake...
Logging: Yes
Calories: yes. Today was a low exercise, low calorie day. So tomorrow at the gym will be harder...
Only used about 10 of 3 pass days.
To be honest, I have not considered a non-scale victory. I will say that I generally feel better and perform better in the gym when I have had a healthy diet for a couple of days. Also when I am able to do things like put away a bag of cookies without eating them all, I consider that a victory. But, yeah, I will have to give it a think and see what everyone else says.5 -
Exercise was walking again, over 16,000 steps.
Tracking is difficult, hotel food, sandwiches (not wrapped and labelled).
Probably ok on calories as I'm allowing myself extra while on holiday.
I'll call it a pass day.
NSV is being away from home, eating out but still being aware of what I'm eating and not going "hog wild".

✅ Exercise: 65 mins
✅ Calories: under goal

You very correct. Even at maintenance, the scale is up and down. The habits you have learned along the ways to maintenance really help you here so that the "ups" are not in control. #NeverAgain7 -

✅✅✅ exercise today was walking around outside after work. It was up to 63(F) today! Woohoo!!
Pass Days Used: 3
My NSV is that I feel like I've held my weight over the entire winter.... Even though I've been up and down all winter, I've never gained more than 7 lbs. This is the first winter where I haven't put on 20+ pounds!! And I'm so excited about Spring and getting right back to it and taking off these last 20 lbs.8 -
@enlightenme3 glad you found your favorites again2

Super opening post today @Mrs_Hoffer and I love reading everyone’s posts.
My NSV this month is that I caught and stopped myself when I contemplated some sneaky behaviour with regards to weighing and tracking. I talked with my dietician at our appointment today about it and we agreed — it is a NSV. My new mantra for the rest of this month, to ensure it continues to be managed: “who exactly would I be deceiving?” Yup — 💡💡💡7 -

love the opener @Mrs_Hoffer - my NSVs this month have been building consistency with my morning meditation practice and learning to listen closely to my hunger/fullness cues (finding that often I eat less than pre-logged if I only eat when truly hungry and stop when full).4 -

I am on vacation now and have noticed that my mobility is so much better than my last vacation when I was heaviest. Before the weight loss it was getting hard to get out of a booth or chair at a restaurant without supporting myself excessively on the table and it is also so much easier now to get in and out of a car. I have also found that my metabolic flexibility, which I developed from intemittent fasting, now means that my vacation activities do not need to be planned around frequent meals or snacks. I can go without eating for hours without discomfort. We only brought some nuts and a meal replacement shake with us, instead of the vast variety of snacks I used to plan to bring as emergency food. Emergency food is currently not an issue for me.
