Give me tips/thoughts

I am back after loosing 30 pounds in 2 years, then I gained 10 back when I stopped doing MFP. So not being a dummy I came back!! I have lost 5 pounds in the last month re joining.

I am thinking I need to take some days off, and overall I just need a bit less calories than I would like. IE some people loose on 1,800 + and I really need less. I run around a lot in the house having a big family, I would like to loose 5 more and keep it off for life. I eat very well most of the time. My Diary is open. Thanks in advance for feedback. :flowerforyou:

My current stats are:
5'7
134
Size 2, 25/26 waist
Eating around 1,600/1,700 on days I walk 3 miles, eating 1,900 on days I run 3 to 5 miles. Also introduced some extra lifting and kettle bell but usually around 20 to 30 min 2 to 3 x a week.

What would you do differently? I workout 7 days a week, but somedays are a light walk, my loop is 3 to 5 miles so never less. I am happy where I am but would like to kick these last 5/6 pounds and sit at 128 being fit.

You'll require a very minor deficit, probably 10% max.

You'll have much less room for error to still see results. Meaning when you have a lot to lose, you can do a bunch wrong and still see loss. You don't get that ability now.

Do you alternate the run/walk days? That would be better during a deficit, since body is already getting stress from that anyway, too much exercise (though walking is active recovery level) will add stress too.

Will need to confirm eating level by weighing foods, not measuring them. At least for 2 weeks to see how far off other methods are.

Was that 5 lb lost fast water weight that comes with every start of a diet?
Did you change eating habits a lot, like less sodium, or that stayed the same?
If no change of sodium, and couple lbs was fast water weight, that was lost glucose stores that haven't topped back off, so not really the desired weight of fat, actually glucose stores is LBM, so really lost metabolism.

Lifting is good, because it may be the 5 lbs isn't the weight as so much as where it's at that you don't like.
  • It was a solid 5 that came off, I was eating way too much I cut about 500 calories a day. My workouts stayed almost identical. I think weights are my future. Just having a european background I prefer walking to anything else, but I will get over my resistance (pun intended) and give it a go.

    Thanks!
