Made a fiscal decision last week and cut out daily SBUX. Just a large (venti) coffee soared to $3.53. Been doing k cups and have finally adjusted to that newer routine.

Off to spa and car wash and home to get in some pool time. Dinner out with friends tonight while DBIL / DSIL. Babysit DMIL.

    Have a great bbb day.

    Good morning BBB friends,

I have used K cups in hotels, and they are convenient, but one cup and throw it away - I hate the idea of all that waste. Besides, I never limit myself to one cup of coffee. I did buy a new coffee grinder this week. The price of those has gone up too. Fifty bucks for a crappy Mr. Coffee burr grinder. The world we live in. I doubt this flimsy feeling machine will last 10 years like our last one, either.

    Morning BBB

We have the reusable k cup we travel with. It works in most machines. Plus have the pour over system too. I didn’t unpack it here since we are only here for a week. Did I tell you Ron bought some ph chemicals from a coffee distributor. He has been testing different ratios for a month or so to get the right ratio. I’m way less picky. I can tell a difference but I guess I drank Hampton inn coffee for so long I just don’t care.

Had a bit of sticker shock at Costco. Avocados were 12.99 for 6. Not even the super big ones. Used to be $4.99-5.99 regularly. Not sure how much of that is California and how much is inflation. ybe2l6rov3tr.jpeg

Hiked almost 10 miles through th e redwood yesterday. It’s awe inspiring if you’ve never seen them. Today supposed to rain all day so I think we will just hit up nearby towns for window shopping and duck into to a coffee shop or brewery as needed.

    Good morning.

This time of year, the avocados should be mostly Mexican, fwiw.

My first cup of coffee in the day is Keurig. When I get to work, I get 7-11 coffee next door. I used to pick apart the cups and recycle as best as I could until I learned that the only stuff they actually bother recycling is metal, cardboard and glass. Everything else goes straight to the dump because there's no aftermarket for it.

    Great photo Steph!

Inflation is running rampant globally not just in USA...

I just paid $35.00 for a gallon of paint. I get to paint deck rails this mid morning. Oh fun! Rain to move in later this afternoon. Slept great with clean sheets and windows open last night with temps in the low 60's.

I brew pikes place decaf daily at home. Enough for 2 8oz cups. Most days I only have 1. Took all caffeine out of my diet a couple months ago. Don't even miss it.

Skip is it her son or her daughter visiting their mother by you this weekend? Enjoy your dinner out tonight! Glad your swallow has improved.

    Happy Saturday!

    Afternoon BBB

On the way to JFK. Posting from London tomorrow.
Pour over pre ground. DW makes the coffee and she doesn't feel it makes enough difference to make the hassle of grinding worth it. She makes a really great cup of coffee without grinding her own.

    Good evening BBB Friends.
    • Busy day but did get a lunch ride in.
    • Great picture Steph. I would love to see the Redwoods.
    • Savings a hundred bucks a month at Starbucks is nothing to sneeze at. I have one of the Keurig coffeemakers where you can make single cup with a k-cup or a pot with ground coffee.
    • It's time for a Braves game.
