Frustrated.

Yet again my body is fighting me. I get really motivated and get into a good routine of some kind of workout and it fights back. Either knees or feet. Every.Single.Time.
I'm sure i've mentioned it but I have problems with my feet and one ankle. The ankle has been for years, since I was an athlete back in the day and I sprained it plenty of times. The feet have been for a few years but but worse the past month and a half. I finally got a referral to Orthopedics and went yesterday. My Xrays look great. Bones are strong ect. But as he was feeling my calves and feet he felt right away my achilles tendons are extremely tight. I have a range of zero with my right foot and only a bit more with the left. (he says his are also a bit tight but he can get to a 20!) The tight achilles can cause all the foot problems I've been having! He suspects they have been tight my whole life. He also thinks I have some tendinitis in the same area. He has given me stretches to do all through out the day and I will be starting physical therapy. Hopefully that will help and I'll be able to do stuff with out hurting! There is nothing he can do for my ankle. There is no arthritis (which i was surprise by) and because I'm still young cortisone injections are not a good choice unless it's unbearable. (they can make the problem worse with longer use)
For now until I start physical therapy I am supposed to just walk, taking it easy and Aqua aerobics are also a good idea. My Husband and I have been looking into a local gym with a pool. Our local Parks and Rec is having sign ups soon as well so a class with them is possible too.
So anyway, another activity I'm mentally ready and able to do but physically can't. Hopefully in 6 weeks I'll be able to rejoin you all and finish. I hate "quitting!" :grumble:

Honey you're not quitting! You're healing and looking for a new route to be able to workout. I hope everything gets better. I know how it feels to have a medical issue bring you down. I have adult onset asthma, meaning it literally appeared one day out of the blue! I couldn't even fold laundry without going into an asthma attack. It took ALOT of time and patience...but tiny tiny steps in the right direction will get you there. Again, YOU"RE NOT QUITING!!! You're only quitting if you let go of it all, and you're not.
