Good Morning Team,
New Team Challenges are coming today for Nutrition and Fitness Goals to work on for the entire month of August.
This month I am providing a newsletter that will cover areas on what Fresh Fruits and Vegetables can do for our Health.
I will cover the topics of Cardiovascular Disease and Blood Pressure and how eating fresh fruits and veggies can do to help turn these diseases around for better health.
Next month we will look at Cancer and Diabetes.
I will include Suggestions for Fresh Fruits and Vegetables and Suggestions for Fitness exercises to help you get started.
Hope you will join me for the Month of August. I stand with you and cheer you on your journey to Healthy Living!

Congrats on a well done job in completing your Team Goals for the month of July. Keep up the great work! ππ
For the Month of August we are looking at the Cardiovascular and Blood Pressure and the advantages of doing exercises that impact our Hearts to be Healthier and our BPβs to be at normal levels.
There is compelling evidence that a diet rich in fruits and vegetables can lower the risk of heart disease and stroke.
* Harvard University studies showed Individuals who ate more than 5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day had roughly a 20% lower risk of coronary heart disease [4] and stroke, [5] compared with individuals who ate less than 3 servings per day.
* Dietary Studies Examined the effect on Blood Pressure of a diet that was rich in fruits, vegetables, and low-fat dairy products and that restricted the amount of saturated and total fat.
* In 2014 a meta-analysis of clinical trials and observational studies found that consumption of a vegetarian diet was associated with lower blood pressure.
May I encourage you to come onboard and choose any of the suggested exercises and the Fresh Fruits and Vegetables I have shared for you.
You are welcome to modify any of the suggestions but I encourage you to try as many of the exercises that will prove to be good for our Heart Health and Blood Pressure.
Letβs Raise the Bar to our Personal Best with Building Healthy Bodies.
Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Suggestions
Apples, Blueberries, Cherries, Strawberryβs, Watermelon
Carrots, Broccoli, Zucchini, Cauliflower, Beets, Corn
Week 1: Nutrition Goals
Drink at least 8 cups of Water or more daily
Maintain your daily Fibre with consuming at least 25 grams or even more if you are able.
Eat 6 to 8 Servings of Fresh Fruit and Vegetables daily with trying 2 New Vegetables and 2 New Fresh Fruits posted above this month.
Be sure to get enough Calories daily to maintain a healthy body weight.
Week 1: Daily Fitness
Cardio: At least 5 days or more per week. Letβs raise the Bar to your personal best: Aim to get between 35 minutes or more per day with increasing a healthy heart rate.
Suggestions for Cardio Fitness:
* brisk walking (at least 2.5 miles per hour)
* water aerobics
* gardening
* tennis (doubles)
* biking or manual wheelchair riding that is slower than 10 miles per hour
* Brisk marching in place
* Hiking
Strength Training: Aim to incorporate Strength training exercises at least 3 times a week and get at least 25 minutes or more each session.

I am adding carrots and cauliflower to make soups that are pureed and easy for me to consume. I am also doing strength exercises and core to help build up my body. Itβs slow but a steady plan as I heal from surgery!

Thank you for the suggestions, Judith. I am still following Dietician advice about what fruit and vege I can eat. I am still getting over lung issues too so cannot do as much exercise but I will try to walk when able.
So my goals are to stick to a FODMAPS diet (goal 1) and walk when I can (goal 2)
