    G'Morning

33 years ago this morning, I started Basic Training. Hard to believe.

My dear boss dropped a bomb FaceTime announcement on me last night: retiring on 24 Sept. I knew it was coming but still quite tough to hear and face. We've been an inseparable team for 11 years.

Ask if assisted living has a 'twofer special, Sam! I might be interested in shipping mine into there too! She is convinced she is sick because I run the A/C at 71. Good grief.

I'm dreading work today. This is not going to be a fun next few months.

    Mornin' BBB

Hooah Skip! Can't say you didn't see this coming with yer boss. Hope your new team situation works well.
Did you get the cell phone for octagenarians for DMIL? Big buttons and call/text only? I know she is a nonagenarian, but do they even make cell phones for them?

    Good morning.

I want to live with Skip and his 71° thermostat! Best I can get is 73.

Good timing on a retirement right around a quarter/fiscal end, Skip. Sorry that it introduces some chaos for you though.

    Morning BBB

Our AC is set at 78. It’s an adobe style house so honestly that is perfect most of the time. I actually have a light blanket on me right now. Homeowners said we could change it to whatever we preferred but so far haven’t needed to.

A good boss is hard to replace. 😯

    Good Morning,
We keep thermostat on our floor at 74 day 72 night, DMIL's is set on 77 and she complains it is too cold.
My point is if you move more and eat something besides junk you would not be so cold. Difference is to keep DMIL downstairs. Did have hers on 79 but visiting nurse said that was too high and I do not want to be charged with elder abuse. Plus if I am going to abuse it will have to be something I'll enjoy.
Skip, do you think boss will recommend you for the position and would you be interested?
Remember Basic Training, 50 years ago when we still had the draft; did not enjoy,
I am tired of DW not letting me do anything, can't bend over, pickup more than 15 lbs. pull or push using force of more than 15 lbs.

Good morning, Vietnam - sorry, I got carried away. Good morning BBB Friends.
    • Started the morning with my Emmaus group. Life is returning to normal.
    • A good boss is hard to replace. I worked for one individual a good part of my career in two different jobs. Life is much easier when you connect with your boss. Good luck Skip.
    • We keep our thermostat at 78°. I don't like to pay to be cold in the summer or hot in the winter. Hmm, Lake Anna may be interesting. I'll bring a sweatshirt.

    Good morning BBB friends.

So, in Air Force basic training, did they leave a little mint on your pillow every morning? The Army wants to know. (Only teasing, Skip, all basic is a pain in the tuckus).

We keep our thermostat set at 77. I'd have to put on long sleeves and pants at 71. We are lucky to be among the minority of homes that have central AC up here. As the heatwaves become more common and extended AC is becoming a lot more common.

Still feeling pretty rotten this morning, but I have to mow the lawn, anyway. It is getting really shaggy out there.

Let's get this straight SGM, the mint went on the pillow at night! B)

And we had MREs. We ordered them from www.omahasteaks.com

    Good morning

Well after dodging the covid19 bullet all this time, yesterday I tested positive. The baby I sat for Fri to Sun. said to be "just be teething with runny nose and low grade fever", nope, he has covid. I guess he was exposed the week before. I thought I was exhausted because well taking care of 2 littles is hard. Then got the call. And also awoke yesterday with bad cold.

I have a non stop headache, cough, achey, tired, etc. I did a rapid home test last night... got a positive. Took a clinical test this morning in thru the hospitals covid testing back door. Theyll call me later but said if I got a positive. Its positive...

Hopefully it won't last long. Cancelled my friends coming to the lake this weekend. Obviously, I'm staying home. I'm sure Tom likely will get it Too? Dang It!

    Hope everyone stays healthy.

Dave, did you test? Then test Again?

I depise learning a new Phone!

Sorry about the boss Skip, you called it right!

    Have a great day BBB

    Oh no Mary. Get well!!

You guys are cracking me up!!

I found freevee under Amazon and wow. Free shows. I’m happy. I read anyway.

Dh works late tonight. I have the house to myself. That’s a first in a long time. I don’t mind it.

Ac is turned off all day if we aren’t home. I just turned it on when I got home at 4.

    Made me laugh, Dennis.

That stinks, Mary. Get well quickly. I did test - twice - with a negative both times.
