Thinking of starting a 10,000 mile challenge. Any interest?

I just realized that I've logged over 7,000 miles since I started tracking my mileage using a GPS. At this rate I should be over 10,000 miles by the end of 2014. I'm sure there are others who have logged more miles than me, but I thought it might be fun to track "lifetime running" similar to how there are monthly running challenges. I could set up a spreadsheet where folks could track mileage every month and set a long-term goal -- it wouldn't have to be 10,000 -- it might be 1,000 or 5,000 or 20,000.
Any interest?

Heck yah, sounds like fun, I use mapmyrun for keeping track of mine, I should see how much I'm at up to this date.0

Oh man, I just calculated how many running days that is, which is 488, basing my goal on average of potential miles ran per day and where I'm at now, I'm in for 2500.0

Carson pretty much runs 10,000 miles a week.0

According to DailyMile I just hit 5000 miles in around 3.5 years.0

I crossed over 20,000 miles a few months back. That took ~ 11 years. My next 10,000 should take a little over 4 years.0

Yar, I think 2500 is def doable if one runs a 50 solid miles per week, 10000... that's crossing into psych ward territory. LOL.0

LOL! Not quite.
Yes, I'm interested.
I'm at a little over 13,000 logged miles right now (with very little to nothing logged from when I started it 2003 until 2006).0 -
I'm up for a challenge. Would probably take me 10 years to hit 10,000 though. Count me in!0

Cool! Looks like there's some interest. I will set up a Google Doc to track this and then we'll get going!0

I'm a glutton for punishment, sign me up. According to Endo I am at 1501 total since last year. I have a few dozen runs in Runtastic but probably not much mileage so I will just ignore it.0

I am interested in setting a goal of 5000. I have run 2109 miles since I started keeping records in Jan 20110

Okay, everyone, I've started a new thread to track the challenge. Here's the link:

I know I run a lot... currently between 80 -85 miles a week and more on holidays and birthdays.....0

I'm in! I've run close to 1000 miles every year for the past three years, and I peaked at 114 miles during the month of August, so that should be achievable over a several years.
So, how do we hold each other accountable? Do we just share our progress on our profile page?0
