Mornin' BBB.
Yup, DS#1 flies the AH64 Apache. Sounds like a good call grounding the entire fleet until problem with engine fires on the Chinook is corrected. Per the article in the Wall Street Journal, only about 70 of the fleet of 400 are known to have the part suspected to be causing the problem. I would not have expected the abundance of caution by a organization not known for being uber careful. Good leadership.
Dog training this am.

Me Dad flies in around 5p today for long Holiday weekend. Staycation continues.
Lots to do today. Car wash; haircut; restock the Yeti w/ liquid gold. Hoping for some pool time in there somewhere.

Good morning.
The neighbors I dog sat for got back from their cruise on Saturday, came to the birthday party at my place for Dave on Sunday and started having Covid symptoms on Monday. I tested negative last night and will test again Saturday before I go to the game. I'm not worried about it, but it'd suck to have made it this far too get it now...0 -

Good morning BBB friends.
I was once on a Chinook that crashed - sort of. On a flight between Fairbanks and Anchorage a major part failed, robbing the aircraft of all power to the rotors. The pilot masterfully autorotated the helicopter to a fairly hard landing in the snow. The under carriage was crushed, but everyone walked away. We landed about 300 yards from the highway. We got a ride into Talkeetna where a kind bar owner fed us free food until the Army picked us up. 1979 - feels like yesterday.
Pretty much packed for the cruise. I'll drop Sassy at the pet lodge today - and feel guilty for the evening. We board tomorrow.0 -

Lots of vacations this week. Enjoy.
No big plans today. Might go to Scottsdale and walk around the shops. There is a running store there that is supposed to have the bra I’m shopping for. I’d like to try on to see what all the great reviews are all about.
Need to hit Costco and a grocery store too. We have a Labor Day party on Saturday and I need to get a couple of things. I’m making taco salad.0
