Bon voyage, Dave! Hoping you can give us daily commentary.
50 degrees this am. Wearing sweat shirt and pants at the computer desk that sits in front of an open window. Hot coffee in hand and enjoying its warmth.
Mowed part of the lawn yesterday after telling "the guy" not to come again for the third week in a row. With the heat and drought, not much growth is happening. It has been a while since I hopped onto the garden tractor to mow and enjoyed giving the yard a little more of a manicure that "the guy" does with his zooming method of mowing.
Cooler weather made dog training much more enjoyable.
Mike, do people call you the Piano Man? Do you have the album? One of my fave's.
Be OP ;-)

Good morning!
Lee, if you want more practice with a lawn tractor, you can come to my house. I am getting closer and closer to hiring "the guy" to come do some yard work.
Today we work from 7:30 to 11:30. Then, we have a cookout for the plant. I expect to be home by about 1:00. The extended weekend will be nice.
Last night I was only able to get the bed set up. I still have a dresser, chest of drawers and wardrobe to move today. THEN, I can go back to other projects that I was working on before the carpet. It is nice to have new carpet. The old carpet in the bedroom was 20 years old.
Bill, it is scary to me just how dry the western US is. I hope that the drought breaks soon.
Sam, did you get out on toad? Please remind me how you came up with the toad name. Have you been feeling better?
Have a great day!0 -
Good Morning,
Enjoy cruise Dave, after hurrying up and wait protocol for boarding and required drill relax and enjoy
We seem to be getting west coast rain; we must be getting west coast rain, rain in forecast for next 10 days
Our grass is quickly getting where it needs cutting twice a week, but I know how to ignore it.
Toad is a milk green or olive drab and black H-D calls it Deadwood Green and Vivid Black; DW collects frogs and colors match several of her frogs. Did get Toad out for a ride and lunch, then came in and started working on yard.
Enjoy long weekend Steve and Lee, believe rest of us enjoy weeklong holidays0 -
Mornin'
Yeah, Dave, enjoy the voyage; hope you have good weather. I'm envious.
Really feels like fall here this morning. Very dry air, blue sky, bright sunshine and nary a breeze.
I don't have to mow anymore since I moved to a condo. No outside maintenance at all except shovel off my little balcony if there's a lot of snow, and shovel out around my car.
No, I don't have Piano Man, although I do like the song. Some of the neighbors call me Mr. Canoe, actually, because of the big red 17-footer always on my car roof.
My back pain is gone, but the instep of my left foot kept getting stabbing pain on and off last night. Getting old and decrepit, I guess.
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Bon voyage indeed Dave! Enjoy the scenery. We will miss ya and your wonderful turnings of adventure tales and gorgeous hardwoods.
Glad your back pain is gone Mike, sorry about the foot. Yup something seems to always hurt as ya get older.

Good morning gentlemen.
We'll see how the cruise goes. DDIL has things planned for all the ports we visit. That's something I won't be expected to do anyway. I'll try to check in, here. I should be able to when we're in port. Don't think I will be able to at sea. They have Wifi available on board - for a hefty additional fee we chose not to pay.
I was awful dropping Sassy off, yesterday. She's too smart, with too good a memory. She knew exactly why we pulled up to the kennel. And, while she was happy to see the women who run it, she was really upset when I handed over her leash. It felt like abuse.
I'll be sorry to miss the first full weekend of college football. Hope the Ducks aren't embarrassed.

Good Morning
Smooth seas Dave!
We get two cooler days in the mid 90s before returning to a more serious approach to triple digits. Heather seems to have gotten a bit dehydrated at school yesterday and had to be sent home under the current protocols. Covid was negative and she is feeling better and getting back to it. The Northumbria Community which I am part of is in the UK and is trying its first ever Open House weekend virtually open to the entire dispersed community. A lot of time math is going on after getting the UK based schedule. Late this morning is the Welcome and then Compline at 1:00 since it will be nighttime there. I will attend each Morning and not get up at 1am for Morning Prayer. Decluttering, the document phase is progressing well. Yesterday I finally dug out my pink slip. The next step is to scrap my 20 year-old Saturn under the States clunker program. That car and I seem to have fallen into similar states of decay.0
