    Good morning gentlemen.

Couldn't sleep - again - so I am up early. Seems as though 3 a.m. is my time to wake up, unless I take something the night before.

Spent the afternoon watching baseball, yesterday, and will do the same today. We are all pulling for our Ms up here. Might squeeze in some college football, too. I'll take Sassy for a long walk this morning as advance penance for my sloth.

    Good morning!

Frankie tried to wake me up at 3:30, but I rolled over and so did she. She tried again at 5:00, and at 6:00 I got up and we went outside. We always take her outside on a leash. This morning we had our first freeze of the season. It was 31.5 when I took her out. It was 65.4 in the house. I turned on the furnace just to take the chill out. It is supposed to get into the 60s today, and the forecast for tomorrow is 75 and 83 for Monday. We brought some plants inside, and covered some others. We'll be taking those plants back outside today. For the next 10 days, the forecast has the lowest temp at 44.

Connie got her new shower installed yesterday. She is almost giddy over it. for $11,000 total cost, she should be giddy.

Lee, thank you for the update on DOMS. I had always believed it was lactic acid. Now I know. Thanks!

    Have a great day!

    Good Morning

We made it down to SoCal after a beautiful indirect route. The coast was amazing with the marine layer keeping things cool even when we climbed above it. We walked in Big Sur to stretch our legs and stopped at the gas station where James Dean stopped to fill up just before his crash. Among its many names is "The Place". We got into our hotel late. I can't say I am pain-free and I would have hit some tramadol yesterday if we hadn't left it on the kitchen table, each thinking the other was packing it. But nerve and back-related pain are easing a bit this morning. It is hot here so I don't know how much actual walking we will do today. Not much planned beyond the open house/Celebration of Life and a visit to the graveyard to attend to my inlaw's grave and lay flowers. But we have so many memories down here we will not be bored. This might be our last trip down here.
