Our power just went out, the entire block from what can tell from looking out the window.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes!

I'm going back under the covers. Hopefully the power company brings us back soon.

    Have a great day!

    Good morning.

Sorry you've got the flu, Skip. Better than Covid, right?

Fasting blood work at 8, so I'm in the home stretch now.

    Good morning BBB friends.

"Staying under the covers" has different degrees. I rolled over and got an extra hour: didn't get up until 5:45.

We're getting our flu shots this morning, the latest Covid booster next week. I have received a flu vaccination every year for the last 46 years and haven't had the flu in all that time. Just saying.

The Mariners' ace is on the mound today. Hope they can get a split in Houston.

Choir practice tonight. It will be interesting to hear how that is different wearing hearing aids.

Whats your impresdion so far Dave?

I know for me the first couple days was full of sounds I hadnt heard in a long long time. Like the birds singing. The toilet tank filling up with water lol etc. Not having to blare the sound up on TV .Thought I had car trouble when in reality all it was only my tires hitting the pavement. No longer having to lip read and say what?

I hope your aids will be a welcome improvement for you!

    Good morning BBB Friends.
    • Get well Skip. That's a reminder I need to go get my flu shot.
    • Braves and Padres evened up the two NL series last night. Let's hope the same happens in the AL tonight.
    • Swanson and Riley made a pair of unbelievable catches last night.
    • Dave, does your new hearing aids have the app on your phone? I went to a jazz concert last week and put the app in 'Music' mode and I could really hear the difference.
    • I hope you get your power back soon Mary.
    • Enjoy a late breakfast, Lou.

    Morning BBB

Had a lazy day yesterday with just a walk around the downtown Louisville area. 3 different Edward DJones in a 6 block radius. Then slept terrible…apparently we should have gone for a bike ride to tire me out.

We did both the flu shot and booster while in Arizona. Hope they both work.

    Mary and Dennis:

I notice a marked improvement in my treble range. I hear a lot of high, clear tones that have been missing for a long while. It takes me back to my audiophile days, with the big speakers and expensive cartridge on my turntable, listening to the first playing of a Steely Dan album. In those days I appreciated those clear notes more than a booming bass line. I don't really notice a change in talking to anyone, other than it seems like Rita is louder than before.

I have the app on my phone, and my devices paired with it. The audiologist told me she rarely uses the app, herself, but that some veterans have told her they use it all the time. We shall see.
