The November Walk Challenge starts....tomorrow! So now is the time to be thinking about our new individual monthly challenge goals!

Having Leslie's, or other walking workouts on DVDs or streaming online can be a great addition to walking outdoors in the crisp cool days of November. For those who are enjoying the wonderful cooler weather, walking or hiking outdoors might well continue to be a pleasant alternative to in home workouts. For those walkers who live where there is more rain, or perhaps even snow, the DVDs or online workouts are a tremendous help when it is impossible to get outside for a walk or hike.

This group is open to any and all walkers. The majority of us use Leslie Sansone Walk At Home DVDs or streaming workouts, as well as those great walks or hikes outside on the trails or pathways that are available to us, or a walk in our neighborhood, and on the treadmill, as well as other instructors' walking or strength, or yoga workouts. All of these many options count toward our miles and minutes. However you get your walk or workout in, come on in and join us! Post your miles or minutes, or workout, whatever you did ... it is all good!

Set your goal for how many miles or minutes, or times that you want to walk or workout this month. This is your own personal goal :star:. Post your results daily, weekly, or whenever you like or are able.

If you find this challenge in the middle of the month it doesn't matter which day of the month that you join in. Just set your goals to reflect what you want to walk for the remaining days in the month. You are always welcome :) !
If you are new to the group please feel free to start today so that by the end of the month you will be that much closer to your health goals. It is never too late to join in.

It is always fun to read which walk or workout that you used. Or whatever form your walk or workout took, whether outdoors or on the treadmill, including strength or yoga or anything else that you are planning on doing. We all could use some new inspiration sometimes, or inquiring minds sometimes just want to know.

I know that we are all excited to see our long time faithful walking friends o:) join us for yet another amazing month together, and we are awaiting the opportunity to welcome newcomers to this month's Walk Challenge!

And now... let us lace up those walking shoes and get some water... as we begin to walk into November 2023 during the Monthly Walk Challenge together... and let us walk with a grateful heart <3 .

I just found this group but I've used Leslie Sansone walking workouts on YouTube Premium for a long time. I love to walk my neighborhood (nothing is flat and the circle through the neighborhood I normally take is at least 1.7 miles minimum) but whenever the weather doesn't cooperate I either do Leslie Sansone, another walking workout or a Zumba/Dance Fitness video. Or I'll go to my YMCA for Zumba or gym equipment. Recently I had a bad cough and haven't been able to do all my exercise as I keep stopping to cough so I'm just re-starting my exercise routine and trying to go back to all of these workouts.

I want to have a goal of at least hitting my 10k steps at least 5 days per week while I'm starting my exercise again.

Welcome @pamperedlinny to the group! Thank you @texasgardnr for starting us up again this month.

My November goal is simple as I move the party indoors- 30 minutes brisk walking to start the day every morning before I do anything else!

Hi @pamperedlinny. Welcome to the group! We look forward to cheering you on this month.

We're still playing catch up with work after being down with Covid for 2 weeks. Luckily, our clients are patient and understanding with us as we slowly work to attend to everyone's needs.

We have some mild weather that is still making walking outside tolerable so I'm trying to take advantage of it and what is left of the fall colors.

    November Goals

    Mileage Goal: 70
Apple Watch: 500 Exercise minutes for the month. That's an average of about 16 minutes per day. πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Welcome @pamperedlinny to our walking group! You have quite a nice number of various options for exercise/ walking to choose from on any given day! You are in good company to be starting to exercise again after something derails us for a time. Many of us have started over again for various reasons over these many years. I am happy that you have joined us for this month's walk challenge.

@mypinkbikini , nice goal for the colder month of November!

@Deeder522 , that's nice that you can still walk outdoors and enjoy what remains of the fall colors. Take care of yourself as you continue to get stronger again after the Covid.

My goal this month is to again do intentional exercise as well as other activities such as yard/garden πŸŒ·πŸ›, maybe a little outdoor walking, or extra household tasks, to purposefully increase my activity on most days, as tolerated. To increase the amount of walking on some days I am going to do several sessions instead of one workout in the morning.

November 1: 60 minutes: walking indoors, gazelle

I did over 10,000 steps for Monday thru Friday last week. Over the weekend I had a bit over 5,000 on Saturday and 6,000 on Sunday so not too bad for my rest days.

My week looked a lot like the previous week. 10,000 Monday thru Friday. 6000 on Saturday and 5000 for Sunday. I also had a friend visit from out of town and we did a lot of sitting, talking, visiting starting on Thursday evening so I had to be consciously make myself move for a lot of that.

Hello. I just joined your group. It's mid month, but just found the group. My goal is 2 miles per day for the remainder of November, using Leslie's YouTube videos.

@ronicaw57 , Welcome to the walking group! I am happy that you decided to join in even though mid month! Why wait? Exactly... you will have two weeks of good walking accomplished, however you choose to do it. YouTube is an excellent source of Leslies walks. If you also like Leslie DVDs take a peek in thrift stores or DVD/ CD resale shops.

We're getting blasted with a long slow Winter snow "storm". I've got about 7" in my front yard and the potential for another 7-12 by Sunday Morning. I'm enjoying a little break before we head into the holiday next week.

Where did this month go? I've been working 7 days a week and only averaged 1-2 miles total most days. I'm only working 5 days a week for the next month so I'm hoping to use this time to reintitiate good habits of am walking, vegetables for lunch, and self control at celebrations!

Hey all! I managed to hit 10,000 steps 6 days this week and have over 7,000 yesterday. I'm trying to be really conscious of my movement and make sure I get a walk or do a video almost every day... especially if I don't go to the gym.

2 fast miles today. Hit about 4k steps 4 days this week. I'm not where I want to be yet but day by day step by step I will get there.
