✈️DESTINATION - Principality of Liechtenstein - 6,000 Miles Do’s & Don’ts & Read Labels

The challenge begins on Saturday morning. Exercise & Do’s & Don’ts & Read Labels done before SATURDAY DOES NOT COUNT!!!!

Switzerland has incredible scenery with mountains, lakes, valleys, villages and rivers. It’s a popular alpine destination attracting 12,000,000 visitors annually. Next door is its tiny neighbor, The Principality of Liechtenstein; which offers the same beautiful views but with remarkably fewer tourists, only 100,000 annually.

Liechtenstein is doubly landlocked and nestled in between Switzerland and Austria. It offers pastoral landscapes of thick forests, emerald meadows, log cabins, snow-covered peaks of the Alps, medieval architecture and villages linked by a network of trails.

The capital city, Vaduz lies along the shores of the Rhine River. It is the financial and cultural hub with international restaurants, and is home to a lively cultural life with museums, modern art galleries, theatres, churches and live performances. There is always something to do.

The Old Rhine Bridge is a wooden pedestrian bridge that connects Vaduz with its Swiss neighbors. The border between the two countries is marked with a sign in the middle, and you can stand in two countries at the same time. The citizens of Switzerland and Liechtenstein do not need visas to cross the border, and they use the same Swiss currency.

The Liechtenstein family bought the land (country) and has been ruling the country since 1719. Vaduz Castle was built in the Middle Ages, towering over the city, and is now the main residence of the Prince of Liechtenstein. The Liechtenstein princes — who lived near Vienna — saw their new country merely as a status symbol, and didn't bother to visit for decades. It wasn't until the 20th century that the first Liechtenstein prince actually lived here.

The country is a paradise for walkers and trekkers along the endless hiking trails. You can even do a special trekking tour, with the Alpaca and Lama Tour. It’s fun walking with these cute animals while you take in the panoramic views. Along the way you will pass logs cabins and visit the cheesemaker, and maybe even do a little wine tasting.

Being in the heart of the Alps the ski lifts are active in summer too. At the peak take in the 360-degree panoramic views. Nature-lovers can enjoy mountain biking, hiking, paragliding, climbing, photography and quiet relaxation. Mountain huts serve up tasty meals with a view. Coming down the mountain, the pristine landscape is like something from The Sound of Music. You will hear the tinkle of bells from the cows, sheep and goats along the way.

Also now is the time to try the E-Mountain Bike and join the “Three-Countries-Cycle Tour” from Liechtenstein via Switzerland and Austria. Where else can you cycle through 3 countries in 1 day?

The traditional farmhouse museum shows what life was like when this farm was built in 1518. And it shows how farming techniques have evolved.

Visit the Galina Falconry Centre and be part of the falcon, eagle and owl show. Stretch out your arm so that the eagle can sit on it. The birds decide if they want to return back to their cage or fly away after the show.

Great aerobic exercise opportunities here!

📝Living the Good Life - Do’s & Don’ts & Read Labels

We each have our own Do’s and Don’ts for Good Health, Healthy Weight Loss or Healthy Weight Maintenance. From experience we know that some of our habits bring us closer to our goals, and some habits are self sabotage. This week pick ONE of YOUR most important daily To Do’s and ONE of YOUR most important daily Don’ts. For To Do’s choose something that you know works for you, something simple and achievable, that you are not doing daily, but you feel you should. Don’ts - choose something you know from experience gets you off track and further from your goals. Choose something that will prevent you from being unhappy with your next weigh-in.
