    Good morning.

    I have to decide on health benefits for the organization today and my options are save money with an innovative but brand new insurance company that seems like it'll get a bit nosy in its focus on preventative care or take another fat increase from Blue Cross.

    Either way, I know I won't sleep tonight without some sort of knockout drops.

    We have an unwritten rule about avoiding alot of subjects in this forum that I will break. I will pile on to your dilemma Lou and ask how, as an industrial powerhouse nation, not covered with a universal coverage plan! I digress. I may have gotten into a tiff with MyEYE Dr team yesterday. Ordered new glasses first week of October. They arrived. Were clearly wrong. Replacement pair they are saying they cannot do (tint/progressive) - which is BS as they did them last year. I loathe incompetence. I loathe "press 1 for. press 2 for" only to be put on hold when a human answers after 11 minutes, more!

    Still feeling sluggish and quite tired this morning. Flu symptoms persist. Still not much of an appetite.

    Hope all traveling in Cooba (isn't that the right phonetic pronunciation) are having alot of fun (and warm)!

    How goes the mammoth painting project?

    • That's a dilemna a lot of us face individually Lou. Must be daunting to have to make it for a whole organization.
    • Replaced the 12v battery in the 2013 Ford C-Max yesterday. The original battery, 9.5 years old.
    • I have a calendar today that would make it appear I need an assistant and I don't have a job.
    • I better get at it.

    Good morning BBB friends.

    My neighbor, who has been the secretary of the HOA for 30 years - a retired Army colonel - asked me to serve on the board of directors. When I declined, citing my responsibilities at church as enough on my plate, he asked that I take on supervision of the HOA maintenance contract. That one made me laugh. I told him that, at this stage in my life, I am shedding obligations, not taking on new ones.

    Dealing with glasses was the bane of my existence for many years, Skip. Cataract surgery solved it all. Now I just buy reading glasses at Costco. My distance vision holds at 20/15.

    Starting day in 40's, should warm into 60's
    Will do some work in yard then yoga classes this afternoon
    I'm glad our health insurance is set and I do not have to worry about sifting through different policies and companies.
    Trying to get folks to be involved in HOA's is like pulling teeth, folks want everything done and handled but not willing to do their part. As population ages it is going to be harder and harder to get folks to step up, We now have a lot more receivers than givers.

    Sam, I spent six years on the HOA board, including two as vice president. I then did another year on a committee rewriting the covenants so the HOA could be recertified. I did my giving.

    Hello

    I'm officially out of office until Monday woohoo.

    Finished my porch pots and window boxes this evening. Went to grocery store and Sams Club at about 3:30 both were crazy busy.

    Ds1 lands at 11sm. Looking forward to hanging out with him a couple days.

    Ds2 is hosting us and a total of 26 on Friday and smoking 2 x 16lb.turkeys.

    Temps climbing to 50F tomorrow they say. Good day to get the lights on the gutters and finish decorating outside.

    I'm in year 6 on the HOA board. Year 4 as president. Us same 4 members have been the board over the last 4 years. People here won't step up either. We have 72 homeowners.

    My gift orders are starting to show up. Had to intercept one being delivered across street instead. Sigh. Not that difficult to read the address.... I get an email saying my orders been delivered, as I'm watching the guy drop at wrong
    house... glad my desk faces out the front window to road. Lol
