I'm following this too. I have temperature probs on my Treager. I can look at the meat temp without opening the lid, but I have to go down and look at the grill to see it. I too would like something that I could just look at my phone with. I know that there are many available, but I don't have any specific experience with any.

Sounds like a nifty gadget. Have never heard of these before.

My uncle used to say everyone had cordless screwdrivers when he was growing up.

I use the Meater. Pretty nifty gadget. There are a couple of others available that are probably equable. I use it with my Camp Chef pellet smoker in combination with the wired probe. Not only does it calculate my cooking time using the ambient temperature of the cooking device, but the ambient temp double checks the temperature setting of the cooking device. It also calculates the resting time of the cut of meat after removing it from the oven/grill/smoker. I also have an Thermapro instant read thin probed thermometer for smaller cuts and fish.

I use the Napoleon wireless thermometer, believe it ran about $80
Works for grill, smoker and oven
