Got out yesterday for a nice hike in Audubon sanctuary--no hunting there. Cascading streams, mossy rocks, tall pines... Had it all to myself.
Busy day ahead: a funeral, then DGS's NCAA playoff game vs. NH, and then DGD Christmas Caroling concert, "Carolling for Cans" to help local food pantry. Forecast 50º, rain, and 40 mph winds, will make football interesting. Bad for passing, but our wunderkind QB runs the ball himself successfully all the time.
Have a good day.0 -
Good morning!
Mike, best wishes to the grandkids today! Stay warm and dry! Prayers for the family whose funeral you are going to.
I just took Frankie outside. The thermometer says 16, but there is a stiff north wind. I suspect that the wind chill is minus 35.
I have lots to do around the house this weekend, including picking up leaves. I am sure, however, that Connie will want to get out of the house. I think that there will be a little of both. Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer, so that might be when most of the yard work happens. I picked up sticks last weekend, but we have had really strong winds, so I get to pick up sticks again.
Work is getting better, however, I am still woefully behind. Next week promises to be more of a catch-up week.
Have a great day!0 -
Mornin' gents.
Sorta been MIA a bit this week. Mornings have been hectic.
Picked up boat from the mechanic after they winterized the motor...now gotta put rat bait in the cubbies and cover it.
So glad I didn't go to the Amateur National in Utah. 6 degrees out there this AM on the final day. 17 dogs out of 99 dogs entered made it to the 5th and final series. Usually, there is a water marked retrieve, but not sure how they will find water with no ice. It is a bit of a gamble having the NAC out there this late. Kinda like having the Superbowl in an open stadium in Buffalo or Green Bay.
Good luck to Mike's grand athletes.
My nephew's funeral is today down in Ocala, FL. I am not attending.
Windy and rain this am, so am sitting in our home office and catching up on desk work.
Be OP ;-)

Good morning gentlemen.
World Cup leads the day. Have to watch US v. Netherlands, this morning. The grandkids spent the night, so their parents could get up early and go to a watch party (game is on at 7 a.m. PST).
Snowing at 5 a.m., which could turn to rain any time, but will clear by 9. DGD is in a grade school marimba band playing at the town Christmas tree lighting, this afternoon.0 -
So Lee what kind of rat bait do you use. I too will want to watch some of the US v Netherlands game.
Sending peace to all who have funerals to attend or be there spiritually.
No snow here in pdx yet in the lowlands.0 -
We have stations outside the house and sheds, and inside the house and sheds. Its a next generation anticoagulant that is safer for predators that might eat a poisoned mouse. Plus it has a antidote, whereas the bromethalin has no antidote.0

Good Afternoon,
Cloudy with chance of rain this afternoon
1st Christmas gathering tonight
Tomorrow cooking breakfast for Men's club
Last year exterminator put out bait for field mice, ended up killing a king snake and rat snake when they ate mice, that I had kept around for a couple of years0 -
Good Morning
Prayers for peace and comfort for those who have suffered loss.
I took a day of rest yesterday to try and calm things down physically. So far so good. Finally got my MRI review. Nothing stroke related found. But my sinus cavity is inflammed or somesuch thing which he says explains my allergy symptoms that developed this year. Two nasal sprays to open things up and reduce inflammation as first step. It should make CPAP easier if it clears up some of the congestion that still occurs. Since I didn't do much yesterday we will make some progress in the LR so the tree can be put up for decorating later this week. I need to move the range hood somewhere. I have heard back from the handyman explaining his very high quote. I will make sure I understand him and likely just get it put in and bring this small disaster to an end. Heck of a draft by the vent pipe in the kitchen.0
