Pet lovers?

Okay, so I know that this has nothing to do with the point of the group, but I'm sitting here trying to find ways to avoid doing my homework, and thought I'd see if anyone else here has any pets they'd like to brag about. I am a huge dog lover, and if I had it my way I would have a farm full of basset hounds (coolest. dogs. ever.). Unfortunately for me, my SO has more sense than I do, and has stopped me from filling our small home with every basset I can find.

For now, we have an awesome, self-obsessed daschund named Samurai, or Sam for short. He's pretty adorable, if I do say so myself.

See? Adorable.

(Taken this morning. He does NOT like it when the laptop gets more attention than he does.)

Had to add an action shot.

So does anyone else have animals they'd like to brag about, or share pictures of? Part of the reason I want to lose weight is to be able to run around the park with this little guy. He LOVES playing tag.

Sorry for all the edits... Also, tried repeatedly to resize the second picture, still trying to make it smaller... FINALLY... Thank goodness... Man, I haven't been this bested by technology in a long time.

Anyone feel like fueling my procrastination?

    Anyone at all?

    Bueller... Bueller...

-sigh- Fine. I guess I'll go read Gilgamesh.
  • We have 3 cats, 2 pure black kitties and an orange one. The orange one is our baby and he is very naughty, he just turned 1. When we move to the country we plan on getting a English bullmastiff!

I am glad your dog inspires you, any inspiration is good!

I want a kitty so so badly!! I will have one eventually, just have to convince my other half that HE wants one, too. English bullmastiffs are gorgeous!! We have too small of a home to have a larger breed, unfortunately.

Here is our old baby. Abby, Lab mix and a love.

The cone of shame was because she had a cancerous lump removed.

I did too, actually. Winding down my Historical Archetypes and Mythology class and I've quite enjoyed it.

However, I still like to find reasons to procrastinate!

We have two feline furbabies, both tuxedo kitties. The older one, Noodle, is 6 and she's rather aloof, but will get in your face for attention if she wants it badly enough. The younger one, Fender, just turned two and he's our little goofball. He likes to eat, a lot, and loves a good snuggle, even if Mommy is trying to do something very important and gatdangitFenderICan'tHaveYouOnMyLapRightNowCan'tYouSeeI'mDoingSomething!!

Oh my goodness your Fender sounds like an awesome little bundle of energy. And Noodle sounds like my brother's cat - she wants nothing to do with people unless it's on her terms.

I have two furbabies, Kira and Monkey, both boys, both black kitties :) Monkey is 7 but he's only been with me a year, got him as a rescue from an owner's-parents surrender when the owner went away to school overseas and could not bring him with; parents were going to keep him then decided not to. He has fit right in with my now 3 year old Kira, who I got from my co-worker when her daughter moved home and they suddenly had 5 cats in a two bedroom home. Kira was more interested in people than the other cats, but he did eventually get lonely with no other cats, so a year after I got him I got Monkey. My friends say it's a sign that I'm a crazy cat lady when I get my cat a cat...

Both furbabies came with their names, I did not change them, since they'd had their names for a while, especially poor Monkey. He seems pretty happy here now :)
  • a post right up my alley. you never have to ask me to talk about my babies twice, lol. i have four kittehs!

Vinnie Violet and Sophie Belle are sisters and they will be 5 yrs old later this month. we thought Vinnie was a boy, so my ex-husband named "him" and when we found out we just decided to keep the name.

Journey Lee is 2 1/2 and my only boy. i have had him since he was 8 days old. i had to dropper feed him and then bottle feed him and teach him how to do everything. he now weighs 22 lbs and is the biggest, loving cat i have ever met.

Lilly Adele is my baby. she just turned 1 a couple of weeks ago. i got her when she was 3 weeks old. she was poisoned and i nursed her through that, so even though she is a bit behind, she is also a very loving cat.

I have loved reading all about everyone's furbabies!

We just adopted this little angel from a local shelter, they had a booth at the fair yesterday and she picked me. Her name is Trixie, she just turned a year old, and she is wonderful! She has a huge personality, and she has already made our house her home.

Resurrecting this thread to show my old girl at mile three of a 3.5 mile hike. A few seconds later, she was layed out on her side blocking the entire path. She did finish the hike, but it was a lot slower than we usually walk! lol

Adorable. When I would walk my uncle's dogs they'd start migrating towards the shade after the second trip around the park. It was a bit of tug here and there to get them the few extra feet to get them home. :) I miss those dogs.
