I just noticed I started off roll call three times this week using 2022 instead of 2023. Old dog is slow at new tricks.

Hiking up Mt. Wachusett today. We got 2 or 3 inches of snow, all lacelike on tree branches, but I imagine the mountain will have more, as the peak is 1000' higher than Rutland. Finally looks like winter now.

    Time for coffee...

    Good morning!

    Mike, enjoy your hike.

We are expecting freezing rain and/or wintery mix today. Tomorrow is supposed to be back in the 40s.

I am going to try to plow through chores today so that I can relax more tomorrow.

Yesterday just sucked at work. It was all about HR related issues. HR is going to drive me to early retirement I think.

Prayers for each of you for issues, challenges, and pain that you face. I hope that you all have a pain free day today.

    Have a great day!

    Good Morning

Yesterday I made Heather's favorite, lasagna, for her birthday dinner. Shopping killed my knee but frankly, but I got it done. Instead of Pecan Pie I went to the local chocolatier and got some pecan turtles. She adapted fairly quickly and was happy. She actually thought I would wait till we celebrate with my son in a couple weeks. Silly wife. We start 10 days of rain after our one day break. No idea where the water will go. Our clay soil is saturated and then some. We are headed to IKEA to try and nail down our kitchen remodel. I watched Youtube videos to improve my cane walking. Turns out I had it on the wrong side. Hopefully I will get more mileage out of it today. We are beginning to make peace with the idea that the knee will have to be replaced before we can move, not after likely a 4-6 mos delay. But I will try to get the kitchen done first. I don't see my ortho until Thursday.

    Good morning gentlemen.

Your cooking reports always make me hungry, Bill. Good luck with the knee.

Before you contemplate retirement, Steve, find an avocation that will fill your time. Just sitting around watching TV is a ticket to an early grave.

Warm and wet. That's out forecast. I'll spend some time rough turning a couple bowls from very wet cherry logs.

    Morning,
Sunny but too cool for Arthur
Invited for 2 bike rides, Arthur just does not like cold weather: starting in 30's highs in 50's
Lots to learn and memorize before Monday
Bill, so glad you are better; has you doctor tried a hard brace for knee? know it does not pay them as much as surgery but can allow knee to repair self.
Steve, do you have one or two years till full social security?

Nice Mike. A nice 2000' mountain. Sorry about work Steve and HR stuff.
I am wishing the best of luck for all my former classmates in Northern California. Our daughter was born in Eureka so I am familiar with much of that part of the state. Wishing Bill the best with his knee for sure.

I couldn't agree more with Dave about doing stuff before you retire. fortunately I was biking, hiking, cross country skiing, and more before that happened. I also took up being a Master Gardener thru the state for a while too.
Have fun Sam on your upcoming bike rides should you go.
