    Up early....

Canoeing was great--sunny day, barely a breeze, saw a couple otters and heard a beaver splash, saw a duck once. Maybe heard a deer walking in the bushes. The river had ice shelves in coves and a skin of new ice from overnight in places. 35º, but working against the steady current going upstream warmed you up. First time we've seen the sun in weeks it seems. A nice day.

Looking at an old, classic, Yamaha stage keyboard on Craigslist, may drive to Carlisle for it today or tomorrow. A $30 fixer upper with full 88 keys, weighted, feeling like a real piano. (More clutter for my condo?) My current keyboard has 61 plastic keys and the deep notes in my lessons are starting to go off the bass end.

    Good morning!

Mike, I'm glad that you had a nice canoe trip. That just sounds too cold for me, but I'm used to getting a little wet with my kayak.

It has been busy. I have missed a couple days reporting in.

Bill, I hope that you can get a good lead, or find a house that is right for you and for Heather.

I am hoping for a quiet weekend where I can get a few things done around the house.

    Have a great day!

    Mornin' gents.

I too have been delinquent. Work has been very worky. New doc is rubbing staff the wrong way (too many mares in the paddock) and not taking up the slack of DW's absence. Lots of euthanasias. Dissatisfied clients, mostly due to inability to make contact with the front desk, so I find myself doing a lot more client communication/mollification through texts, emails, and phone calls. I usually jump into our practice software with my first cup of coffee after letting the dogs out. I usually take a minute or so to lurk here on my phone midday to stay current, but prefer to post with a keyboard. I get home home pretty spent.
Canoe trip sounds glorious. Always love seeing otters. They always seem happy and playful.
House hunting is a lot of work. I may have missed some of that conversation. Has any of the online real estate sites, such as Zillow, made it any easier?

    Be OP ;-)

    Good morning gentlemen.

The canoe trip sounds great, Mike. Hope the keyboard works out, too.

Hope the work situation eases, Lee. You need some time tramping across fields with your dogs.

I rarely let cold keep me inside. Maybe that's from my tours in Central Alaska. We have a front coming through, today, which should lead to several days of very cool, dry weather. I hope to get out for a hike on Monday. I have announced it to DW, to get her ready for the idea.

    Good Morning

Mike, it sounds like a wonderful canoe trip. I don't know if I have ever seen a river otter. We have lots of sea otters, had one climb up on our kayaks once while we were just floating along in a slough, but they mostly lay on their backs in the kelp or bob the heads up out of the water. Sometimes you can see them playing a bit but not much.

We made it into Florence without too much drama, except for Heather's speeding ticket which won't come cheap. I booked us into a spot right on the ocean and we are a slider away from what we love. Heather will get out on the sand later. I will have to watch, I am wobbly enough on the sidewalk. I slept 7 hrs last night. I have been averaging 4 lately. Feels good.

We meet with our realtor at 1 pm. The goal of this trip is to get a better idea of what sort of house we should focus on when we move up here after our place sells. Heather is a master of Zillow and other sites so we think a 1500sf 3br 2ba will work but after 23 years in a condo we don't really know. So the realtor is going to show us some properties. She has a list that Heather has looked at online. The knee gets done in 2 weeks, I am more than ready. The remodel is tentatively scheduled to start 3 1/2 mos later to finish no later than the end of July. We hope to pack and maybe be out by the end of August so the place can be painted and get new flooring and then hit the market optimized to sell. Lots of ifs in that schedule though.
