    Good morning gentlemen.

    Another rainy morning in Tumwater.

We arrived early for Rita's CT scan, yesterday, they called her right in, and we were walking out of the hospital five minutes before her appointment time. That's how I like medical appointments to go. Now we have to wait for the radiologist to give a report of the results.

We went to the commissary, while we were on post, and picked up some bone-in country-style pork ribs. Rita is making sauerkraut and pork for supper, tonight. I can't wait. Slow cooked for hours; the whole house smells wonderful. That's the ultimate comfort food for this guy. My German grandmother would approve.

Working with a tough piece of wood on my lathe. It was a large log given to me a couple years ago. The bark looks like some sort of cedar or juniper, but the wood is really hard. There are some cracks to deal with, which are a challenge since I dropped and spilled my bottle of thin CA glue. A fun problem to solve.

    Good Morning

Dave, I had a similar miracle to you and Rita's appointment. I had to go to the DMV yestereday to get my temporary Handicap Parking hanger. I had no appointment. 5 min to check in at the front desk, 5 min wait, 5 min at the counter and I was working my way back to my car. I was prepared to be there for 1-2 hours.

Still having significant arthritis problems with my left thumb which is painful and worthless. Icing helps bring the swelling down a bit. I ended up on Norco and Tramadol yesterday after banging it yesterday morning. Thankfully I am right handed. Cleaning up some bills and paperwork today. I hope to be able to chop 4 onions to make a double batch of goulash for the dinner and the freezer to stock up meals for the coming couple of weeks.

    Late again.

Been in a bit of a fog today. Need to keep a proper bedtime. Did a late hike yesterday and got a text to go to DD’s house for belated birthday cake. (She turned 51 Monday). DSIL had baked 3 homemade chicken potpies. Plus of course there was cake and icecream. And beer. Got home a bit late.

    Evenin' gents.

Staying on 61st floor of the Tropicana hotel in Atlantic City. Stayed in better Red Roof Inns. Some joker set the thermostat to 90 in the room.
Hope to get an early morning board walk tomorrow before starting with meetings.
Love it when Dr's appts and DMV visits go efficiently.
Doing some Yoga in my room before bed now that it has cooled off. Scotch from home is next. Then bed. How do you sleep without dogs?

    Be OP ;-)
