Finally got out for a hike yesterday, flat terrain & some gentle hills. It was 55º and overcast (where is winter?), muddy and landscape dreary looking--bare trees, brown grass--but still great to be out. Went 5 miles, stopped at a hill overlooking a river fork with a beaver dam-waterfall.

Picked up a 1984 ham/shortwave radio receiver yesterday I saw on Freecycle.org, (a recycling group where clutter passes from one home to another). Bearcat DX1000. Got home and cleaned it, found the power jack was broken but fixed it with superglue. So far the knobs, buttons and lights all work, but no reception. My ham radio club folks probably will have ideas.

Bill, really glad to have you back.

    Good morning!

I'm off work today as Connie is having cataract surgery on one eye this morning. Her surgery is about 20 miles to the north. I'm hoping that the roads are OK. I'm also praying that all goes well with her eye. This is the second surgery for this eye. It is to remove some cloudiness behind the retna.

I'm hoping to use this weekend to start to feel better and to work on my attitude towards work. I still don't have the year closed, and I need to make the final push to get that done.

Prayers for Bill and Bob with their health and healing. Prayers also for Lee and his getting healthy and pain free.

    Have a great day!

Sweet find, Mike. You'll have it working in no time.

    Good morning gentlemen.

Glad to see that all seem to be on an upward swing.

The cable guy came yesterday and installed new cable boxes and a new modem. We now have voice control on one of our three TVs. Sadly, the other two TVs are so old or unusual (one is a 12-inch with built-in VCR from 1994, the other an off brand from 2010) that he couldn't find a code to pair the remotes to the TVs. We're no worse off than we have been, though.

We had our third meal from the two ribeye steaks I grilled on Tuesday. This time I chopped up a pepper and some onion and made fajitas. Still some leftovers for my lunch.

Sassy let me sleep in until after 6, this morning. When I took her out, there were hints of grey in the sky. The days are getting noticeably longer. Looking forward to spring.

    Good Morning

Praying for a successful procedure for Connie this morning.

I remember those tv/vcr combos. They were all the rage for a while.

Good PT session yesterday. We solved a few problems and I have a list of exercises to focus on. Mostly quad strength and range of motion stuff. He will be back this morning. Not much going on besides ice and elevation to deal with the swelling and exercises. Hopefully there will be a nap in there. Coffee is going well. I have her add some protein powder to it which is rather tasteless and ups my protein intake since I don't eat much right now. Enjoy your days!

Bill: glad your knee procedure went OK. Most of my friends don't like protein powder taste either.

Hey good luck Steve with Connie's cataract surgery. Sadly I cannot have the simple new cataract surgery done in my left eye because of my unusual "pseudoexfoliation" ("eye dandruff") stuff going on
Gotta love those ribeye steaks Dave? I cooked one on valentine's day for the two of us. YUM YUM.

Took a flyer on the sidewalk yesterday as I walked from the street at an angle straight into the curb. OOOPS Not much damage though.

Keeping you all in my prayers for your pains and healing.
