I thought I would try some of these groups and see how it goes. I've been using the MFP site for awhile.
I've just turned 60, have arthritis & gained weight after dealing with hip pain. I've always been active and ate whatever I wanted, but I quickly realized for the first time in my life I'm going to have to watch what I eat. I also have years of sports injuries catching up to me.
So I'm getting back into the exercise habit at a slower pace. I find taking anti-inflammatories before exercise works better than after (and I need less when I'm preventing stiffness rather than treating swelling.
I recently set a goal of 150 minutes per week of anything that gets me breathing heavy. This is the recommended amount to bring down my blood pressure. I am hopeful it will also reduce my weight as well. I'm achieving this in 20 minute to 45 minute intervals.
