Memorial was a mix of sweet and raw emotions. One of his sons basically cut to the chase and described the text his father sent him and his brother before he took his life. The other son was a bit more poetic and gentle. Naval honor guard was crisply done.
Got like 3 and a half hours of sleep after arriving to the hotel and having to get up and at 'em for today's trial.

    Be OP ;-)

    Mornin'

Good luck at the dog trials, Lee... Long drive to Altoona.

We're supposed to be getting 6"-12" of heavy snow in a few days. More in higher elevation, less in valleys. I may yet get some snowshoeing in before spring.

Yesterday was the most depressing in a long time, moving DS to his apartment, which is a hovel of a place in a basement in the city. Like a WW2 bomb shelter that hadn't been cleaned since WW2. His mom bought him a microwave, refrigerator, dehumidifier and bed. He runs a 5K today--"Celtic 5K" along the St. Patrick Day parade route. I will cheer him along.

Dave, I forget--is German chocolate cake zero points?

Church this morning, will stay after to pray for my family.

    Good morning!

Mike, prayers for your son and for his situation.

Lee, I hope that you do well in the trials today and that you have a safe return trip home.

I didn't do a darned thing yesterday. I feel better today, and will get several chores done. I have a very expensive roast that I am preparing for this evening.

Bill, I am happy to hear that you are doing better. Prayers continue for you.

    Have a great day!

    Good morning gentlemen.

Still have some of that cake leftover. I must be getting thinner every day.

Cleaned the smoker (now THAT's why I don't use it more often) and recalked along the backsplash behind the kitchen sink. Also sanded and refinished that backsplash. Got me thinking about how stupid a wood backsplash is. We were too cheap to pay for tile. DW wanted to know how I could remove it. With a sledgehammer and crowbar, I told her. The thing is glued to the drywall and the countertop. Changing that would mean a total kitchen remodel.

It was pleasant enough for me to get out with Sassy for a nice walk, yesterday. There is a 90 percent chance of rain today, however. Maybe I'll watch some golf.

    Good Morning

Good Luck at the trials today Lee.

Rain continues today and through the coming week. Thankfully it wasn't quite as much as we were "promised". But low lying agricultural areas are taking a beating with at least one levee failing about an hour+ south of here. I am sleeping well these days. I have restarted using the CPAP now that the 20 month old recall by Phillips finally generated a refurbished machine to me. A combination of increased exercise sadly tiring me out by end of day, better pain management and perhaps the CPAP in the recliner seem to be helping my sleep. Almost 8 hours these last 2 nights. Heather has quite a bit of prep work to do for school so surprisingly she is going to let me help her. Besides that, nothing much planned but my exercise and ice sessions.
