Up early for trek downtown. Loathe the new tolls. Coupled with parking it costs $22 to go to work🤬.
Nice pics Dennis. Hope you’re enjoying the museum trek.
Hope to head out of DC by 2p before rush begins.

Mornin' BBB
$22 for commute tolls and parking per day? How much to ride the bus or take the subway?
$15 for a salad is even on the pricey side in US unless some meat has been added.
Nice floors, Kelly. Love the swiffer sweeper in the kitchen photo. DW's favorite cleaning device, a must have for non carpeted flooring.
Dogs are having fun in snow! It's perfect for playing. Soft and not too cold.
Having to cover for the new doc this am. Death in the family out of state. Then a house call to update my recently deceased friend's dogs on rabies. I might wet a fly on my way home since I will be crossing a very nice trout stream.

Last time I tried the bus/motor coach option - some chowderhead coughed/hacked the entire trek down. I ended up sick for three days. NOPE!
METRO - quite simply - SUCKS! R/H fares are topping $6 ea way and the incessant stop/go and stops along the way are the makings of motion sickness. And they don't allow you to have beverages. I prefer to complain and *kitten* while driving; cussing/honking with my brethren commuters; while enjoying coffee!
Yep - I'm gaining ground on becoming the crotchety old guy!1 -
Good morning BBB friends.
We took the grandkids to Denny's for supper, yesterday. The server told us that someone picked up our tab. I don't know whether it was my retired sergeant major hat, or just that we were a really happy group. Anyway, I paid it forward: I left the server a $20 tip for our free meal. She was very nice.
I remember all the honking commuters in the capital region, Skip. I like it better in the Northwest, where people are more likely to smile and wave than to shake an angry fist. Easier on your blood pressure.1 -
Good morning
My ds1 is often stuck in DC commuter traffic. The good thing.... Thats when he calls me to chat !
Nice gesture on both ends at Dennys, Dave!
Seems high priced for a salad not full of protein or even many veggies. My latest at home salad is roasted beets cubed, over baby arugula, red onion, cucumbers, lf feta and a light lemon vingerette sooo good.
I'm off in a bit for my routine mammogram.
The snow is melting fast here since overnite! Yay

Morning BBB
It’s a holiday weekend in MX. our upstairs neighbors arrived last night. I can already tell it’s going to be a noisy weekend. On the plus side the exchange rate is back to a better rate. Probably should go exchange a few more dollars as this is the best it’s been since December.
Not planning to move any food, except maybe nuts if Ron doesn’t finish them. Will need one more trek to market for fresh greens and avocado.
Our salad concoction in Mexico has been romaine/ baby spinach with black beans cooked with onion and jalapeño. Top with guacamole and red onion. Toasted tortilla strips if I have fresh ones to toast. It needs a bit of sour cream but I haven’t found non dairy here. Might try soft tofu when we get to Ajijic or make cashew cream if she has a good blender.
Don’t envy your commute at all.
Dave what a nice gesture.0 -
Hey that salad sounds good Steph
That entire rant from skip made me laugh out loud. The last chowderhead comment I believe was aimed at someone on an airplane where you ripped your pants? Or spilled coffee?
Yes. The swiffer is a must on both floors. Ha. I like a clean house. I have vacuums on every floor too. Ha
Plans for tomorrow? It’s the 17th don’t forget.0 -

- We have and use a swiffer in our house too.
- Fed and State tax refunds back in less than a month.
- Glasses are ready to pick up with 3 week delivery time. Of course, I can't confirm they are right yet.
- I hope you get good results Mary.
