Got in the 20's overnight with some wind. Snow and wet ground will be crusty this morning. Half of snow already melted away from yesterday's sunny and warm afternoon. Same will happen this afternoon. Great day to hit a trout stream.
Nice you are getting a refund, Sam. We had to send our taxes back to the accountant for a redo, they incomplete.
How are you feeling, Steve?
Are you able to drive yet, Bill?

Good morning!
Lee, you have been getting an early jump on things the last couple of days.
I am still coughing and hacking. I am feeling a little better. I have a doctor's appointment at 8:30 this morning to go over blood work and renew my bp meds. I still have high triglycerides, and I am afraid that he will put me on statins. We'll see. I like this doctor and he tries to avoid meds, so he may give me another chance on diet.
Work continues down a bad path. The owner was in briefly yesterday. He does not want to discuss production beyond the surface. He did talk inventory with me a bit yesterday. To break even, we need to average 200 solar units per day. We made 5 two days ago and 29 yesterday. YTD we are at 30% of breakeven production. We are digging a very deep hole. I cannot seem to get anyone to see any kind of a sense of urgency. With my battles with burnout, it is hard for me to try to be a cheerleader.
Bill, continued prayers for you.
Have a great day!0 -
Steve, is it possible that this is some sort of business strategy on the owner's part? Devaluing the company and heading into bankruptcy? Those production numbers don't make any sense unless it is on purpose.
Early jump due to being caught up on medical records.0 -
Went snowshoeing, finally this winter, yesterday afternoon. Bright, sunny day, but windy and cold after you were out for awhile. 27" of the stuff at the Audubon place near Wachusett mtn. Winter finally arrived!
Piano class this morning.
DB keeps the family tree, he's dug back into the 1100's, discovered we're related to the Wright bros. 9th cousins three times removed.
Steve, that's crazy. No wonder you're stressed, you're working for lunatics.
Haven't even looked at my taxes yet. State income is zero because my state pension is tax free. Usually get a refund from Feds.0 -
Good morning gentlemen.
Why be afraid of statins? I have taken them for years. I don't have high numbers, but high enough to warrant getting them lower. The risk of heart problems is far higher than the tiny risk of side effects.
I did our taxes weeks ago - we paid, as usual. I submitted a request to withhold more from my Social Security payments but suspect that won't be enough to prevent out paying next year, too. Rising interest rates will give us a big bump in interest income. We've already made more in interest in 2023 than we did in all of 2022. Try as I might, I can't think of that as a problem.
Should be a beautiful day, in Tumwater: sunny and 58 degrees. Expected to top 60 tomorrow. We are about three weeks late for the first 60-degree day of the year.0 -
Good Morning,
Had breakfast with Emmaus group,
Went and looked at ramp we will move Saturday for elderly man in church, he needs realtor wants ramp removed from house for sale; win for both.
Tax return rejected for not having pin; corrected now and resubmitted.
Steve, looks as it would be better for you to jump ship than be blamed for a bankruptcy.
There are several lines of thought concerning statins, some totally believe in them and there are others violently opposed to them. I do know they cause me severe muscle and joint pain, when taking I have to take CoQ10 to function. Some believe we need higher cholesterol as we age.

Hang in there Sam, Bill, Lee...heck everyone with pains galore and also tho9se with snow up the wazoo!!!
Glad to hear you are doing a little bit better Steve.
I too don't like statins wioth the side effects I seemed to have had.
Stay warm and as comfy as possible. Still struggling with daylight saving time.0 -
Good Morning
I have been on low dose statins for over 10 years without any issues.
Steve, the way your business has fallen off a cliff sounds like a cause for alarm. You guys were booming a couple of years ago. It is hard to comprehend how it could decline so quickly. Sounds like there is something else going on. I know when I was in Mergers & Acquisitions, this is a business we would avoid unless we could make sense of. I can't imagine how an owner would not be heavily involved in getting the business back on track.
Another exciting day exercising, icing and resting. PT this afternoon. I am usually stiffer in the afternoon so it should be a good time. I am not driving yet. It is a safety issue. I have to both be able to get in on that side of the car which is harder and be sure my leg won't stiffen or have a pain stab while I am driving. Since I am supposed to limit my time on my feet do to the ongoing swelling I think I have some time to go. But once the swelling is less dynamic I should be able to. But driving, shopping and driving home might be a bit much yet and certainly not to PT.
